Sadly I didn't get the chance to join the early 8bit-scene,
(way too young, no mobility & no anon postage-option@my area... 馃槓
...in turn I picked up everything PD & discmags I could get my hands on, teaching myself $-code by looking at other grps memory-dumps & trying to reproduce something similar on my own - reverse selfstudy?! (Imagine my face as I realized some decades later there actually are ASM-interpreters, no need to enter the pure machine-code yourself?!)
Ended up coding countless bouncy, wobbly mega-scrollers, koalapainted charsets & logos en masse & didn't show ANY of it to anyone
(with ONE single exception) - and stupidly sold everything with the hardware as switching to Aaaamiga became a thing!
What STUP1d young FxCK, I was!
Well, I decided better late than never to get my introverted ass out of that nutshell & dive in now.
The one exception I mentioned:
JCH/Chordian - who I sent a "share your sid-editor, pl0x?!"-letter with some code of mine.
And guess what - JCH did archive every disc he ever received, including mine. 鉂わ笍
Took me 3 decades to ask if that disc still exists (which I did NOT expect at all)!
