Bionic Ninja date

Was looking into Bionic Ninja, which was released 1989 by Zeppelin Games. Howcome Ikari+Talent's crack is from 1989 while all other cracks are dated 1991? Anyone have an explanation for this? Was it put out on budget label in 1991 perhaps?

I have never seen a version different from the Zeppelin one, which, as you said, has been published in the 1989.

Interesting... the scroller in the title screen differs...

In Ikari+Talent's version it reads:
(C)1988 ZEPPELIN GAMES (C)1988 BY SHOCK DEVELOPMENTS

And the cracks from '91 come in two versions:
(C)1990 ZEPPELIN GAMES (C)1990 BY SHOCK DEVELOPMENTS
and
(C)1991 ZEPPELIN GAMES (C)1991 BY SHOCK DEVELOPMENTS

What gives?

I'm aware that there are versions of the same game published specifically for some country like Poland and some others with different sub labels. This might be the case.

Strange tho that only Ikari+Talent managed to get it in 89... if it was released in the UK by then?

I+T wasn't the only one releasing it in 1989...

Wasn't it re-released on some UK mag cover tape? I had a quick glance through Zzap! and Commodore Format sites but couldn't find it thou.

I think it was
from "Commodore Format" cover tape so maybe it was a special version for this edition (1989)

Due to the decreasing amount of new games from end 1991 on, almost everything that came with a magazine (UK tapes, german diskmags) was 'cracked'.. Didn't really matter whether these games were already released earlier on or not. (also, it was not always clear whether a game was really new)
I am sure you can find a lot more examples of this trend.

There are plenty of examples for that. Even BC's Quest for Tires + was intro-linked when it was (probably illegally) re-published on Magic Disk/Game On.

I scanned through all editions of Zzap! and Commodore Format of the second half of the year. It wasn't on any tapes from them. Were there any other mags that time releasing cover tapes?

It could also be plain simple, that someone froze the game and spread (including the display bugs) it and people hardly noticed it being old as the original I&T crack wasn't observed that much as the quality of the game is pretty much below average.

@Dr.J: No, it's got the same level build-up, no special version.
