Project One & Win8
Hmm seems like I hit the Win8 wall too!
Is it really true that there is no workaround the Project One + Win8 problem ??
And no, I don't want to get rid of Win8... =)
Is there no way we can persuade Oswald to do a Win8 compatible version ??
Oswald Pleeeease =) |

job firewall blocks that link. I'll up the source somewhere this week, then if anyone feels like it can have a go. |

Oswald I can't understand why you abandoned this project. There is no competition for P1 STILL (maybe Hermires, definitely not Pixcen - yet and maybe never, can't even think about Timanthes).
Workflow, shortkeys, palettes, GFX modes, import/export, dithering and "easy of use" makes P1 most powerful and flexible gfx tool for C64 ever made.
And yes I'm P1 fanboy :P |

thanks :) reason in short: as I am no professional programmer, without the knowledge of how to make big projects, p1 collapsed under it's on weight, its barely maintainable currently.
secondly when I tried to make it more object oriented, so variable size pictures, and editing more than one would be possible, I ran into a Vb6 bug, the editor crashed when compiling. This really killed my motivation, especially as stupid I was I had no backup of the source, so I had to revert it by hand to a working stage. It was the time when I added proper error handling, and fixed some bugs on requests. After that I just gave up :) |

@Groepaz, I hope you want to take a look into Oswald's sources and improve some things ;) |

There is little progress...
comdlg32.ocx
hhctrl.ocx
MBMouse.ocx
MSCOMCTL.OCX
mrt7enu.dll
MSO97RT.DLL
OLEAUT32.dll
I copied these files directly to the P1 directory and app window showed up but finally crashed . Now goin' to fight with VB shit a bit more ;)
EDIT1: I CAN DRAW but Import/Export doesn't work at all...
(all VBRun60 files copied to P1 folder)
Will report progress. |

a bit of googling shows that win8 supports vb6 apps, so it should run afterall. does the installer run correctly? The laptop P1 was written on is currently in repair, until roughly mid january, if I get it back I can get my hands on the installer script, and all files used. maybe even fix some p1 bugs, if any known, but no new features. well, except I have a new color conversion algo which does miracles :) but that one can be added in a short time. you should try an application which shows what dll's / files p1 tries to load, maybe it will pinpoint the problem. |

Any chance for a "portable" version?
(if asked before, sorry, I'll fuck off again ;) ) |
