2017 will be the 30th anniversary of The Last Ninja...

Quoting System 3 software
2017 will be the 30th anniversary of The Last Ninja, arguably the most successful game ever on the C64.
Should System 3 do a HD remake? To gauge interest we would like to achieve at least 100,000 likes for this post.
We would then seriously consider it.

HD graphics would suck, the charm is the low colors and resolution.

What Oswald said.

HD remakes are complete misunderstanding of what retro computing is all about. Who'd want somebody's screwed misinterpretation of the imagery we have from fond memories years ago.

... same goes for all those horrible Hollywood movie remakes - off-topic, sorry - just letting off steam :)

Don't know if this is of interest, but I started a new version of JANE. I'm afraid it doesn't run on a C64, but it does use C64 graphics and palette.

I've got a thread on the LNArchives. It's still work in progress, but there's a couple of videos and a Windows download (and source code is available)

Maybe they can make a version of Last Ninja that doesn't suck.
