Hi there

For any help I'll be greatfull

Ever heard about those magic thingies called "searchengines"? A lot of people seem to favour google...

Maybe I'm a bit out of date, but I prefer watching demos on a C64.

They wanted to say.

Download the file with demo (if it's zip unzip it)

then use emulator to open or execute the file (if it's .PRG it's a single file for C64, if it's D64 it's a file which contains data transefered from 5 and 1/4 inch diskette mostly various programs and datas. Use the emulator to open it and run the files in it.

What I really wanted to say: Use a searchengine before asking really obvious questions. And most of all, use your brain.
(Sorry, maybe I'm just fed up with all the stupidity on c.e.c. or c.s.c. Most people just stumble into the boards and seem to expect getting every piece of information spoonfed...)

in case someone even hasn't heard the word "emulator" and don't know, that they exist, googling might be quite difficult. ;-)

all _i_ want to say is, that not everyone who asks obvious questions is just to lazy to use searchengines.

Come on, if you browse around on a couple of C64 sites you're simply bound to stumble upon a link or some information on how to get started. I don't mind at all answering newbie questions (if you don't believe me, check the usenet), but it's pretty please damn appreciated if they prove that they did at least a tidbit of work theirselves before asking for advice. I think this isn't only valid for newgroups but for life in general. Whatever, it's not my intention to scare away n00bs.

Geez, Steppe Take it easy! Alls the guy wanted to know was how to check-out a demo on a 25 year old defunct machine, NOT to get chastised! That he has any interest AT ALL should've made you enthusiastic enough to answer the guys question. Why should he have to go to GOOGLE: that's what sites like these are for, right?

That's pretty ignorant and egoistic. Boards like that are definitely NOT there for wasting other people's time, which you imply. As you probably noticed, most people ignore questions like that, another part tends to give very short replies. And if I give him a hint to use a searchengine (I wasn't even flaming, rather being a little ironic, I admit), I am the bad guy?
Whatever, I already stated that I'm not mad at postings like that at all. You are free to answer all those questions in great length, or copy'n'paste them from usenet.
