C64 Trance Music?

Greetings everyone..

I'm a pretty big fan of trance, have been since the dawn of time. My favorites would be Anbrok Sessions, Future sound of Eygpt and believe me, the list could go on, and on, and on (likely ending with A State of Trance.. Armin talks too much).

Anywho.. Are there ANY c64 sids that are trance? I would love to do a demo with a good trance sound.

Transwarp is cool.

Megamipper is good that it's different... not really my kinda music but it reminds me of DJ Rush-Marathon Man ->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwVfK6RlWbU which I like (cos it's punk analogue drum machines :P) and bought when it came out :)

Transwarp is awesome.... Beautiful...

Caffeine control seems more like dance than trance, but still, sounds awesome..

I still wish I could find someone to put these notes in my head into a sid.. I have a basic guitar solo, which I wrote, but would love to hear it in a sid.. Of Coz I would have to have exclusive rights to using it, but the composer would get full credit for making the sid...

Are there any more trance songs out there? Seems weird that all you Euros don't have more, since you have the awesome dance clubs and crazy parties.. Not sure what kind of music get's played, but seemingly trance is more popular than in the USA.

What ?
you want someone else to do the work for you ?

if you can compose music in your head, you can make it a sid too, just start putting in into a tracker, and develop some sounds that will make it good.

anyhow, if you wanna trance tune for a demo, i would be happy to make one for you. but im not gonna do anything before the demo is 95% finished.. i have bad experience with making tunes for other people, for projects that they never finish.

Jan,

I ALWAYS finish my projects..

I took one guitar lesson a couple years ago. In that half hour lesson, I learned to read music and the basic guitar chords. These days, I use my acoustic guitar mostly and starting to play a bit more in my spare time.

I wrote a small tune in Virginia last year and haven't a clue how to put that on a c64. While I find time to code and draw, I don't think I can find time to learn how to use a music program. It could be as simple as Cool Edit, which I use when I record to my PC. I do want to learn though. I do have some crazy sounds in my head, might just be the gears getting rusty though.

I've used Cool Edit Pro plenty in the past to record guitar riffs and even whole songs. Also Diamond Cut is a great one for that, since it has filters that simulate the sound of a tub amp....low pass, high pass, notch, lots of options.

Hi all I was just reading over this.
I also checked out some songs from Crack
I have to say I am glad he got mentioned here.
I liked his robocrack and acid 3 Sid especially.

So many kinds.. of trance or trancy music out there.
or what you want to call it.

Perhaps you would like extazcia and Dicapsych from Zyron
Beyond Imagination II
(sids listed below demo)

Some of my own sids have a trance influence too.
But I had more of a hardcore acid hardtrance thing going on. Most of them are notorious for pounding woofers to dust and make coffee fall over (pc)keyboards.
Some people don't seem to appreciate that and some do.

greets

I had created around 90 sids over a 15 month period in 1994/1995. And each sid had a demo part to it. But demo's must be somewhere???? Whoever was responsible for ripping the sids from the demo's can you let me know if you can somehow get these files to me? All the compositions were created via paduas voicetracker and created in a great rush. Eg half hour etc. As you can hear from the tracks, they are really only 4 beat compositions just joined together. Extensive use of ringmod effects for some robotic sounding vocals.

I'd prefer some music collection with melodic+moody+atmospheric stuff.

Most c64 trance-like stuff is simply too boring for me... There's not even enough effort put into soundwork.

Open Your Eyes

But it may be a personal thing, since it also brings back some wild '99 Ibiza memories for me :)

Jeff, what's stopping you from making one ???

There are different tastes, that's way we have so many different kinds of music :) And beg your pardon, I think I'm quite focused while making sounds ;)

Well, sorry. I wasn't trying to like aim at anyone specific :-)
But anyways, I think that I myself have already touched trance quite enough... mostly just as parts in some of my tunes. But it easily gets boring to me... Especially when making it myself. I probably just want to do something else than trance. :-)

We definately need more soldiers ;)

Maybe it'd be a good idea, to launch a series of music disks, featuring different composers, each disk in a certain genre or style, or a theme or whatever.... Wouldn't that be fun?

Sign me up for an experimental one ;)

Count me in ;)

Jeff : it always depence of kind of mood im in. Sometimes I feel like making a trance stuff, but next day I can't even continue it, as I'm in totally different mood. Probably you know this felling very well ;) Another reason why hard disk is full of worktunes ;)
