Vendetta originally formed as a demo group with grand aspirations to make a splash on the scene at the height of the ESI/UCF war. Originally, the group consisted of Ninjasbane, The Impaler, Switchblade and Freebird (Reverb). This lineup did not last for very long as Freebird went to ACID, The Impaler joined TKO and Switchblade went to NEPA. The first incarnation of Vendetta died without a single release.
The focus of the group quickly changed as Ninjasbane filled the ranks with local hackers, phreakers, and pirates.
The second incarnation of Vendetta, for most intents and purposes, was a group of cyberthugs who liked to bully locals on the BBS scene. Vendetta also traded in C64 software, long distance telephone codes, QLink certs as well as some other things that had best go unmentioned.
The core of Vendetta were made up of real life friends (albeit met over the bulletin board systems) who would often hang out. A few fringe members would be left out of the real life "fun".
During Vendetta's twilight, Comman (Capt. Hack, Jr.) made earnest attempts to code demos for Vendetta, but Ninjasbane discouraged his efforts. Comman left Vendetta and joined NOT.
Vendetta fell in upon itself on February 25th, 1989 after weeks of infighting and internal unrest which caused Ninjasbane to formally disband the group.
As I (Ninjasbane) start playing around with ML, I will probably try to make Vendetta the group it should have been, twenty one years after the group collapsed.
But we all know that isn't going to happen.
