@spider-j: In my opinion, it would be really, really nice to have $11 compo annually. :-) While $81 is creative as well, it's also based around very similar concept/limitation. It wouldn't provide anything uniquely distinguishable as a compo and in the creation process we'd be forced to use similar solutions on sound-engineering level as we did with $11. We obviously can't use bare-bone $81 for melodies, so the results would probably be less-approachable for casual listeners as well.

@Xiny6581: Thanks! :-)

So guys how about $11 compo next year?

Thread closed, so I'll answer here:
When it's about limit compos I still would like to do 1 track SID. $81 would be quite a challenge too ;-)
But of course when we its $11 again, you can count me in. I have enough room to improve :-)

What Frantic said. Klegg - please use forums for questions ;)

From what I have understood, exactly the following values of the SID control registers are allowed:

$00
$01
$08
$09
$10
$11
$18
$19

So this could be called the $00/$01/$08/$09/$10/$11/$18/$19 Music Compo.

@F7sus4, that's right ;)

This was explained in the forums:
$00 (no wave) is allowed and $08 and $09 (test bits) are allowed too.

There original rule should probably say: "only triangle wave, no wave AND testbit allowed" instead, because grammar.

What exactly does "no wave or testbit allowed" mean?

User Comment
Submitted by Jammer on 3 February 2018
As first compo seems misleading, it means exactly this:

- only triangle wave, no wave selected, and testbit are allowed in wave register
