Wonderful release with some eerie music. The opening logo with chainsaw was really cool. Also loved the Offence scroll and twisters. Plotter and Mandelbrot fractals are yum. Great release.

did see this again today and also see your question about the last part graphics. Now I am a bit ashamed about my comments because the end graphics are really great, I think my comment had more to do with the fact that one could have had some space between the platforms and text and also y possitions of the bases, or the base floors in a way and that flowers should not grow from in the air but be based on the platforms and so on. The whole get a bit lined too much? Should be some more air and different levels in y on the base stands were more what I ment in fact... because the pixels are super in a way... again I just have to say that you dudes are really great at making demos and I for one do enjoy the demos you do create so much.

Still I have to say that the offence scroller is greatly coded but do not look that great, maybe we in offence will have some other scrollers on this years X that will be inspirational for others too?

@pal yes - i prefer your comment over comments containing just a word like "cool" or "sucks"... so we know a bit better what ppl have liked, and what they disliked. so i want to thank you for your comment, and keep them coming :) btw, what exactly did you dislike with the endpart gfx? i just wanna know, because i was quite satisfied myself. but maybe theres something i can keep in mind for improvement

Thanks to everyone for your comments.

@PAL: There´s no problem at all. It´s always interesting to hear opinions from a different point of view. Even though I personally not 100% agree with everything, but thats ok, because personal taste makes all the demos outthere look different and interesting. But you definitely pointed out some things that can be improved. And we will keep that in mind for our coming productions.

And congratulations to you as this is one of the better demos on the c64. I just gave you my best thoughts on how the demo could be even better or what I think could be better in a way. I am maybe a fool, but I love your last demo and do regard it as one massive super demo, hope you did not get me wrong. I think you as a group and the effort shown is as great as our own... that takes much time so I just wanted to say what I would think could have done it even better. It is a absolutely super demo! I gave comments like this because I regard you as some of the absolute best that produce demos on c64. I just want us all to be even greater every year, that is my aim... I do not really care if it is us that wins or you, I just want the winner to be superdupermegabeyond...

This demo is nice, but I liked your x2010 demo even more.

First of all I just want to say again that the demo is really good and you have put a lot of work into this but when I see it I must also say that the demo lack what I really think is best in really great and above demos, the feelings and the mood setters done with right timing and order... to me it is a bit some of this and some of that... I am pretty sure the intro with the chain saw would be much cooler with a wooden background and more faster phase due to the fact that it is too loong... then after the nice rasters in vertical you introduce a girl with the chain saw that is not the ninja from the intro and she is never seen again in the demo, strange call... The vector part is nice, but still a plotter, I guess I am a bit like horizon did a better 3d part when we were active in 92 in a way, but it is nice anyway. The mandelbrot part is just perfect i think... cool design and build up and really a moody part of the demo for me... the squares part is also nice, I like the colors very much in the squares. I am also pretty sure that the "offence scroller" would be much nicer with the same build up as we had or just not start with a messy sinus. Would also be much ritcher with the shadows that we had, it really created a base and ground for the whole illusion.... then it would be more stylish than rather a bit messy, I always thought that the scroller we did we could even today just put on a highres MTV logo over it and it could serve as their indent animation, your version could not do that. Animations on the ninja and bird is super... the end music is incredible and saves the part in a way because I really think the graphics are good but not superb in the end part... all in all a very, very great demo.

Really nice demo, loved the fresh new techtech kefrensbars - even with colors! ;-) The 3D-scroller sure was a nice improvement over Offence, bonus points for the small scroller casting a shadow onto the big one! 8) Some really nice gfx from Yazoo there as well... dither-dirty as usual, but pleasing! ;-) My personal #3 on this party...

Love the ninja animations and the colourful checkered line shape morph scroll, nice variation of Offence's scroller (although the other one looks slightly better) also cool to see psychedelic bars on C-64 now.

This is for me the clear compo winner. It has the right mixture between creative ideas, technical brilliance and beauty. I also love the transitions. Very nice end scroller with greetings from Arsenic to Oxyron... and oh boy, these graphics from Yazoo. I can't believe how you improved lately, Yazoo!!

"no lamers were harmed during this production" ;-)

FYI, I was the first to do the so called "Offence scroller" - see One Little Wish by Fairlight for that. Of course they (Offence) improved it a lot, but give credit where credit is due :)

Well this was huge, loads of great effects starting with the vertical hold 'broken'. I really like fire effects but would liked to have seen it at a higher resolution. Never coded one myself so maybe thats all you can push out on the c64.

Some nice gfx in this demo and loved the ninja cutting the logo into the rock.

Waving vertical bars looked great, especially the extra colour version, gave it another dimension.

Great to see the animated tunnel. Those fx's came up a few times on IRC over the last few months so was wondering who'd been the first to make one.

The huge scrolling Mandelbrot map was awesome. The whole time I was thinking, come one why isn't it colour cycling and then it came. Reminded me of a friends demo from 1989, I've yet to locate.

Liked the morphing letters as well.

Great work.

hehe... hcl, as i told you at lcp, releasing something under the arsenic label doesnt necessarily mean we think its shit or not worth to be an oxyron demo :) its kind of interesting that ppl vote this lower, just because it has no oxyron logo in front of it. so the good old name-voting is still part of the szene :) but i dont mind. i just think: someone likes it, someone should vote high on it, no matter which logo is linked infront of it... if someone dislikes it, he should vote it low.

releasing it under arsenic wasnt really ment to make a statement that we are not proud enough of this or something. its just a little more relaxing to get rid of the elite blabla :) i remember cruzer asking: do you have an arsenic release, or an oxyron release? arsenic? ah well, then i am not scared :) ok, fine, but a bit funny somehow. we never said that arsenic is used for crapreleases only - and arsenic has its own tradition and a couple of members who are not members of oxyron.

but i actually do understand why ppl think that way, and are a little bit confused (i think somewhere i made a statement, that arsenic will be used more for experimental and relaxed stuff - and thats what we often do.) and lots of members who worked on this demo, have the double-membership

atleast thats the situation right now. ok, at start, when we released farbraus we had those thoughts - to use it for lower level stuff - i want to be honest. and there will eventually also be some arsenic releases on a lower standart in the future.

Very nice demo. I'm just worried about what someone else also mentioned: Arsenic is slowly becoming a trademark of quality. If this demo is too lame to be released under the Oxyron label, you'll have some hard times the day you want to do an Oxyron-demo :). This is so good, and if you also admitted that you think it is good (by calling it Oxyron), then perhaps some ppl would even dare to vote it higher.

Well, that was just my deepest thoughts ;). Love this demo anyway!

Totally my cup of tea! Great coding, great effects, great graphics, great music, great face-slapping to fellow sceners and more. Give me more and go make a game of the end part! The graphics is just plain awesome!

Big plus for keeping far borders bug-free (almost). Transitions such as those in this demo usually looks like crap at the far edges, but you did it right and for that I'm happy!

Great demo, I love that Chainsaw-Ninja in the intro :)
Loads of really impressive stuff here, neat rotines, good grapchis and sweet music.

The copy the Offence scroller didnt do anything extra for me.
You should have made your own scroller, getting the "WOW factor" straight ;)

All in all, a really good demo, not a 10 but more like 9-9,5 ;)

The chainsaw wielding Ninja carving into rock was entertaining. The effect of the demo had to be the large vertical bending bars, for want of a better name ;D

Audio sounded good too!
