Yes, deserved winner. Imho Slimex' tune beats this one in concern of "epicness" - if that exists ;-) ... but the composition here is just unprecedented. Relistened to some of the compo tunes and this is just outstanding. Especially the two-voice parts and that drum-/bass-figure before going into half-time. Really feels like listening to an all-time classic. | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 15 March 2014
... and the (deserved) winner is ... .. . :) 10/10 | User Comment Submitted by Nith on 8 March 2014 User Comment Submitted by Shine on 8 March 2014 User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 8 March 2014
Like else said some elements remind me "Turrican" music , its so delicious tune . simply amzing work Cadaver | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 8 March 2014

Zirias: no worries, I'm aware that I usually write rather derivative or unsurprising diatonic melodies, and in this case once I got the strong Turrican / Huelsbeck feel going, I thought not to disrupt it :) | User Comment Submitted by Zirias on 12 February 2014
Sorry for the relatively "low" vote .. I think this one is technically perfect, indeed. It's just not entirely my style -- I /loved/ the triolic ritardando at ~1:35 and I think it's a shame there aren't more surprising elements like that. But apart from that, I wished I could get the SID to produce a sound like you do! | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 11 February 2014
Really sweet tune. Love the harmonies and the melody. Proper job, Cadaver. Hyvä Suomi! Hope to come up with something myself for this competition... | User Comment Submitted by Perplex on 11 February 2014
Outstanding tunage! And what Cruzer said. | User Comment Submitted by Stone on 11 February 2014 User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 11 February 2014
Until 10:37 of work until I realised it loops and loops.. neat. | User Comment Submitted by corpsicle on 11 February 2014
I want to shoot giant quadrupedal robots with pink toothpaste while flying over a early 90's pixelly japanese forest when listening to this tune. Great! | User Comment Submitted by Doc Strange on 10 February 2014
Really great tune, excellent composition. I agree with Shine, it looks like is coming directly from Turrican! | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 10 February 2014
I don't know why, but i imagine that this is a game tune from Turrican. ;) Very good melody so far! 9/10 :) | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 10 February 2014

i wish i could compose like this | User Comment Submitted by Pantaloon on 10 February 2014 User Comment Submitted by Cruzer on 9 February 2014
Awesome rastertime! The tune rocks too. Sounds more full featured than usually for low cycle players. Guess I should get some musicians to do Ninja Tracker tunes for my parts. | User Comment Submitted by psych on 9 February 2014 User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 9 February 2014 User Comment Submitted by TSM on 9 February 2014 User Comment Submitted by cadaver on 9 February 2014
This song got started by the first part melody playing in my head insistently. I wasn't sure of whether I ripped off an actual Huelsbeck song :) | User Comment Submitted by E$G on 9 February 2014
Really like it, the first part could be the theme song of a tv series. | User Comment Submitted by macx on 9 February 2014
What (fresh and) Ian Coog said! Brilliant stuff. Definitely a SID that is good drinking to. | User Comment Submitted by Domspitze on 9 February 2014 User Comment Submitted by hedning on 9 February 2014
Really great, Cadaver! I love it. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 9 February 2014
Love it, long lasting with the right tempo changes that makes it loop forever. Already listening it for 10 minutes now. | User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 9 February 2014
Epic. Must let it loop a little LONGER/more often before voting but can already say this is the veeery good rockin stuff we are used to expect from you. Could imagine this as well for shooters but especially beatems. | User Comment Submitted by spider-j on 9 February 2014
Very cool! Though I only listened for 7 minutes instead of 10 ;-) But if I'm not wrong it seems to loop after 4/5 mins.
I really love that "clean" C64 metal style. And I prefer good melodies over fancy instruments. |
