As I have written many times about Joe's artwork, these images drive me crazy in a positive way. This is definitely a world championship! | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 15 November 2022 User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 31 January 2016

...there must be a category ART, that's what it is! Go ahead, inspire us! | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 16 November 2015
On the contrary Flex: My wish is to inspire others to go ahead with experiments, artistic journeys and developing this beloved art of ours; the passion of the machine, to be one of the finest communities ever with excellence in the arts! | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 16 November 2015
Ok ok.. We've seen it all now so let's quit the scene! | User Comment Submitted by Firehawk on 16 November 2015
This is indeed one of my favourites top/bottom border images by JOE (tied with the borderimage he made for Frontier[REU]). The switch between Koala and border is almost undetectable in these two pictures, something which is difficult to master (not from personal experience, but from looking at various workstages in these pictures - being the coder allows great insight into the creative process :-) ).
Having a sprite-layer across the entire image allows a level of detail close to FLI (well close enough for all intents and purposes).
Always fun pitching ideas for graphic-modes with JOE, and I look forward to working on the next idea he's having. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 16 November 2015
DGGR: Thanks!
Mirage: Haha, I guess so..
Smasher: It was made in October and I had no idea for a title this time. | User Comment Submitted by Smasher on 15 November 2015
damn insane pic! 10/10
I only wonder about the name, since we are in November already... :) | User Comment Submitted by Zyron on 15 November 2015 User Comment Submitted by Mirage on 15 November 2015
Beautiful, James. I think I can see a pattern. | User Comment Submitted by InuYaksa on 15 November 2015

One of the better images I have ever seen on the c64 | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 15 November 2015 User Comment Submitted by psych on 15 November 2015
I have no words to describe how much this impresses me! Thanks Joe! | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 15 November 2015
Algorithm, DKT and Asthor + more: Thanks and greetings! | User Comment Submitted by Asthor on 15 November 2015
As usual high level. The unique technique as well that I can enjoy. Gretings Joe! | User Comment Submitted by DKT on 15 November 2015
This is yours and unbeatable technique Joe. | User Comment Submitted by algorithm on 15 November 2015
What a unique masterpiece this is. The screenshots here look absolutely amazing. However on the real thing they look even better. All of a sudden 16 colors seem multiplied by many factors :-) | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 15 November 2015
Jailbird: Thank you! We have many similar adjectives (oxymorons) here, which is just as.. exciting ;)
Oswald: It sure would! | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 15 November 2015
one of joe's c64 pics will end up on one of my walls. I want a purple wall this one would fit nicely :) | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 15 November 2015
Amazing shit but the opened outline is able to capture something of our secret thoughts and its permutative behaviour. We can recognize an item here and there but the line always glides further with unlimited combination of associations. Curves of the consiousness, curves of the subconcious. | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 15 November 2015
This deserves good quality prints and hanging on the wall. | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 15 November 2015
its like we're and the c64 is not worthy for this art :) truly mindblowing. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 15 November 2015
Editing comment.. Pff. Ilesj, check memory, wipe the sprites and you'll see the background.. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 15 November 2015
Hires expanded sprites? 7 (sprites) x (24 pixels) x 2 (expanded)= 336, or in MC counted: 168 pixels width. No problem.. | User Comment Submitted by ilesj on 15 November 2015
And I thought Disconnect was pretty amazing. But this one takes it even further and looks even more refined (despite not going to side borders). Outstanding!
How do you manage the borders? You paint with two sprite colors at the borders with the whole width of the screen with no obvious loss of horizontal resolution? I don't get it! | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 15 November 2015
Haha, thanks Leon ;) Btw where's your stuff? | User Comment Submitted by leonofsgr on 15 November 2015 User Comment Submitted by Joe on 15 November 2015
Prowler: Thanks! And yes, feedback is very welcome.
Frantic: Perhaps? | User Comment Submitted by E$G on 15 November 2015 User Comment Submitted by prowler on 15 November 2015
Great picture!!! And of cource, with obvious influences from MC Escher (not a bad thing!). Although it beeing technically awesome and advanced, the composition doesn't feel 100% harmonic.
As Joe beeing more or less #1 graphican right now (in my mind), it should be ok with some feedback? ;-)
Anyways, almost a 10 from me! | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 15 November 2015
Yeah ... how nice is this please? :) Pure talent & quality (as always) ... great in all aspects !!! <3 10/10 | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 15 November 2015
Super excellent picture *as usual*. (I find it a little funny how it looks like a distance between the two front teeth, which gives the character a childish look.) | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 15 November 2015
I used PixCen (unrestricted wide) and had to count the char-restrictions, disregarding $03, $0a & $06. Set up and tests was done with Photoshop. | User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 15 November 2015
btw which edtior is was done ? its awesome like the rest of your pixel works. very (!) impressive | User Comment Submitted by Cruzer on 15 November 2015
How about this piece of perfection? |
