Damn! this has been a lost long idea for me to do in my books... hmm perhaps I will still do it ;) well executed! very neat with the scroller there.. awesome work! was it really that easy ? since there are many hurdles to handle not just to generate the code for a 3D sphere.. you have the color collisions overflow issues masking etc.. and ofcourse a big ass map in memory aswell.. and then all needs to move, impressive work put down on this one... what is your background?, I don't recognize your handle..

Very nice! The movement of the sprites only adds to the overall feeling of a spinning globe. Really well done.

Thanks @Digger. Actually it is very easy to project scrolltext to the globe as a texture. But I am not sure that it will be more attractive than a well known wolrd map.

I didn't have much time on this, but I was thinking of projecting the shadow of scroll text to the world as an additional layer, which is also not very hard to do.

The globe looks fantastic, would be fun to see scroll text as texture too.

Haha. I was thinking about making a sprite multiplexer going around a planet like this, but with the globe movement this is so good. Sweet !

Very nice indeed, also ruins my idea for a WWE intro with a rotating globe :)
