Again, they actually managed to produce a mag that I read straight through. Not that every sentence is maximally interesting, but it is definitely good enough (and fast/easy enough to interact with to make it worth the trouble). That in itself is kinda revolutionare I think, when comparing it to other c64 publications in these days (go(v) excluded). The size of the mag is just perfect (go(v) included). Nice to see Ninja writing some stuff too. Hope to see more of that. | User Comment Submitted by V-12 on 19 February 2006
Quite nice issue, more interesting reviews and opinions. | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 18 February 2006
Nice issue. Thanx for the short review of Demodojo Intro. | User Comment Submitted by Radiant on 18 February 2006
Good issue, though nothing breathtaking. Of course, given the sparse amount of releases since the last issue, there isn't really much to be said.
One thing I've noticed is that NSR is starting to feel a bit "mechanic". I get the feeling that everyone involved sees this as "just a side project", something small to be thrown together mainly when one has some spare time to kill. This reflects even in the (for him) uninspired tune by Zabutom. I know this isn't entirely the case, and I'm not actually complaining - after all, I'd hate to see these people becoming less active making quality demos just because of having to do this mag. It's mainly a reflection upon things. | User Comment Submitted by DRAX on 18 February 2006
Just read the reviews through. Thanks alot - especially for your Review, Nightlord - it really feels like you have absorbed the music the way it was supposed to be absorbed. And many of tunes grow the more you hear them... My own favorites are Star Flake and Resolution. Thanks again :D ... And about the design - don't blame Clarence I forced him into doing it... :D | User Comment Submitted by DRAX on 18 February 2006
Btw Star Flake isn't released by Vibrants but Maniacs of Noise. | User Comment Submitted by Sander on 18 February 2006
Beware of their interview-methods: First, they'll hunt you down, they'll move next door, they'll act like your friend, they'll drug you, they'll make you say things you will regret and finally they'll make a promise you can change your lines later... and on a day like today, you'll find out they stabbed you in the back. Did lady Di die for nothing?! ;) | User Comment Submitted by Tch on 17 February 2006
Very nice issue for times when the water runs low.
°Nods to Nightlord for his review of Star Flake.° |
