Vice currently supports the grey dot bug, which is why they show when you set the new new VIC 8565 in the machine configuration.
The Sonder Bar code already takes that into account and avoids writing the same color twice (i.e., you don't see grey dots within the blue area).

I just watched this on my C64 and I get grey dots on every colour change. Same with my rasterman picture. :(

Could be even extended by using shx and shy and a matching PCH!

It would be cooler if you could change the width of the splits dynamically.
(e.g by using NOPs, BIT <zp>, LD[A|X|Y] <zp> and STA <abs>,X intermixed with the normal flow)

I did something like this for the vic-20 here: thread

This is an awesome experiment, and I think only real C64 fans can get the idea behind. I like the short music very much.
The new credits are fine, usage of SAX is very good invention.
IMO a converter would be a nice tool to get simple pictures converted to this format automatically...

Very nice... love the Swan and the credits rock... the music seems to fit this mood really well.

enthusi, the muzak could have been a lot smaller if I had a go coding a music routine which brings the same amount of sound but missing out the unnecessary routines that wouldn't affect it. Check out GRG's Lightforce 2006 remake... that is roughly half the size of this. ;P ... just the know how of optimising and having the arse to get up and do it!... something I lack on at odd times.

macx: Yeah! Conrad did an awesome job in just $600 bytes! Relocated to $200 in this version.

Full version of Sonder Bar 4k featuring the PRS mode and veto's swan in it's full beauty.
Permanent raster split.
The credits part now uses SAX for 4th color as suggested by Ninja (thx).
An editor will be considered.
Each screen is 1024 pixel high and $3000 bytes big in memory. In total this demo contains almost 300 KB of crunched data!
Obviously the data packs well. The 48KB per screen boild down to less than 1K for the credits...
Grey dot behavior is taken care of (as in avoiding redundant d020-writes).
