Thank you 4-mat. This has the essence of everything from the early 80's.
Stunned and amazed.

'83 is only a catchy tagline for compo. Its goal is generally to recreate all early vibes before more nextgen players kicked in ;)

Not entirely 83 (more 83 to 85 really), but had to vote it 10 as to vote it lower would ruin the perfect score lol.

I've heard it very often now, this has definitely some john william vibes in it, i could imagine some kind of indiana jones intro/cutscene to this wonderful piece.

Ladies (lol, as if) and Gentlemen: You can stop working on your entries now. The compo is over. 4mat won.

Seriously speaking: I can't imagine how anyone could do it better than this. Sure, this is an entry to a music compo, and the presentation is a big part of creating the period correct atmosphere, but the music alone is a masterpiece and would work brilliantly without any visuals. However, with the visuals... I think I got something in my old, nostalgic eye.

Some kind of cheating, because it's a music compo but on the other hand this is pure awesomenes <3

I'd say 4mat is known to be ahead of the time, so actually him doing 1991 stuff in 1983 is perfectly explainable to me. ;-)
Ultradope music, and equally extraordinary visual presentation.

Spectacular attention to detail in the tune, and as for the presentation... wow. <3

I just don't dare to judge on material purity, drowned in all this awesomeness! \:D/ BTW, it's one-file demo, I guess? ;) 83-86 mashup is imho absolutely ok if it works around the 'older' style ;)

What those below said ... though I would think this is more of a mashup between '83-'86 SID music... just my own opinion though.
