@KAL you are right. The design of the space battleship have a reason too. In the series they rebuilt it from the wreckage of the world war 2 battleship Yamato to hide it from the Garmillas aliens :-) that attacked planet earth.

@Monte Carlos, yes looks like a submarine, but in the anime-series "Star Blazers - Space Battleship Yamato" (japanese title: Uchuu Senkan Yamato) they fly in space with this ship and for a reason i don't know, it works for them. :)
