My apologies! For the demo I wanted to use plain hires bitmaps without sprites. I loaded many pictures in Vice and saved bitmap and colordata. When I later added a selection of these to the demo, I did not notice the missing sprites in your picture, since I think the picture looks great even without sprites.

@Digger: Given the throughput of state-of-the-art loaders, the challenge was to scroll entire bitmaps at this speed using no more than about half the rastertime.

It is a tech demo. I filled one disk side with pictures. There is also almost no ram left for effects or music.

Maybe I will write something about the details later, to let the coders have some time to figure it out for themselves.
