I love how the creature’s legs are cropped just above the hooves. What an interesting artistic choice.

To my eye, a really, really neat and lovely festive picture with a very charming rabbit character. The red details look particularly well-handled...? Great!

Some (unsolicited, sorry!) advice: try to rise above and ignore the snideness and hand-wringing on here if you can. It would be such a shame if you got put off taking part in the C64 scene going forward, because it would seem that your graphics skills on the Amiga etc are eminently transferable to our favourite 8-bit machine. :)

well, what can I say? when it comes to fullscreen gfx, most of it is pretty much irrelevant to me these days. there were times when one or another graphic artist inspired me. but the more I see, the less I want to see and the less I feel like doing something myself. you copycats have finally done it! there is too much fake stuff. I don't necessarily mean this picture. but I'm just tired of thinking about what I should value in each case. well copied? typed a particularly eloquent prompt into the AI? set the right parameters in the converter? ... fullscreen gfx? I don't download them, I rarely look at them and I don't vote for them. ... exceptions are made occasionally, of course. :) ... and then I'm sure I'll have to hear again that my comment is off-topic. My answer: many, many releases that you have to see on csdb are much more off-topic than any comment can ever be! ;)

Gave this 10 based on "feels", can't exactly say why.

If it is a combination of references, I don't mind. Many have tried that and done a poor job, this one seems to work.

I would only be slightly disappointed if this was a reworked AI or a full copy of someone else's similar image.

@Zierliches Püppchen, Thank you, there are always people for whom the proof of creation is more important than real ideas, skills and implementation.

The AI chatter usually comes from the right people. I still know the time when everything and everyone copied Boris Vallejo. I don't recognize any references, so I assume it's just a well-implemented picture.

How is this even possible? I could never draw an image like that and I can't imagine the artist used any sort of digitizing. Amazing work!

Thanks @zscs I started the original concept art back on Amiga first as a panorama (doublescreen in 640x256px) on the right was a road with a red Santa speedcar. I switched the image to 320x200 width pixels and started in multipaint. I used some refs for the bunny and deer of course. The picture itself is original. When listening to "Driving home for Christmas" I had the to make something with a cute rabbit returning home for Christmas - "Hiking Home for Christmas"

Really, really nice! 鉂わ笍
Please don’t get me wrong, is it came from your mind or have you used reference pic (or AI)?
