Its a disturbing situation when people being followers of the idea of so-called smoothness get stuck by their own way of reviewing; An idea which generally emphasizes the value in using smooth dithering and colours, so that the overall invention and motifs fade into the background. I think that smoothness sometimes can be undesirable and thats why it shouldnt be the gauge of the piece´s value. | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 24 December 2006
@Ninjasbane: but, but... you must know these stuff in order to understand the picture's real meaning!

It was merely a joke, fellas. No need to play Professor Christmas on me. Yeesh. | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 24 December 2006 User Comment Submitted by Jon on 24 December 2006
Thanks, Groepaz. Now I have to figure out why a Christmas Tree is called a Christmas Tree since it has nothing to do with Christmas. :)
Hehe, I know what you meant. However, I needed to work in the green somehow in my faux art critique. | User Comment Submitted by Trazan on 24 December 2006

Well if this doesn't sum up the meaning of Christmas then I don't know what does! | User Comment Submitted by Radiant on 23 December 2006
The more I look, the more I see. What was the intention? We may never know, but it doesn't matter; we invent the art in our minds anyway. Isn't post-modernism getting a tad out of fashion, though? ;-) Never mind, I feel fine and I guess that's more than I could ask for. | User Comment Submitted by A3 on 23 December 2006 User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 23 December 2006
I think it's a ROM error. | User Comment Submitted by Jon on 23 December 2006
Oh! It finally hit me.
This is clearly a statement on the over commercialization of Christmas. Note the fallen cross in the lower center of the screen. The green pattern itself represents the belief in eternal life (also represented with the usual Christan Christmas symbol, the Christmas tree) through the death that is winter. However, this pattern and color is marred with thick random black strokes, which represents corruption of an established Christian more.
OR, it could be a ROM error.

Eventhough I see painful faces and thick, deep black cuts all over them, still the overall green color and the ordered pattern radiates a very relaxing mood. I wonder what it is all about. |
