"Quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand. Prejudice and fear and ignorance walk hand in hand." (Rush)
Bingo!
Thanx for sharing Jazzcat.
P.S: The game plays nice, but I epsecially dig the game title music ;-) Ingame music sounds almost like from Richard Bayliss, even the style of the game reminded me of his games. | User Comment Submitted by Morpheus on 22 December 2007
CSDb is a cool thing. Reading comments on CSDb is not. What's wrong with you people? Anyone interested in the actual game, please visit http://gtw64.retro-net.de/Pages/b/Review_Bobby.php for more information.
@Jazzcat: Great work from you guys!
Merry Chr... er... Happy holidays! | User Comment Submitted by Yodelking on 22 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by Jazzcat on 22 December 2007
"She seems pleased" doesn't mean you can see her smile. Ever heard someone smile over the phone? :)
Out of this world, baby
...
A pleasant burkah girl steps up to greet you. She smiles and seems pleased to meet you. Beneath her folds the strangeness lies. Take it off, she's got three eyes! truth is false and logic lost. Now the fourth dimension is crossed...
you have entered the twilight zone. beyond this world strange things are known. use the key, unlock the door. see what fate might have in store... come explore your dreams' creation. enter this world of imagination.

Sorry man, not falling for it. "She seems pleased" means that you could see her being pleased. And "you have entered the twilight zone" means you're already there, hence: outta this world baby! :)
Nice intro though. | User Comment Submitted by Jazzcat on 22 December 2007
Ahaha... Marco, your comprehension is lacking somewhat...
"She smiles and seems pleased" - doesn't imply that we can see her smile. Read more carefully please. :)
"Twilight zone. Beyond this world" - this implies beyond this world IS the twilight zone. Again, matter of perception.
Maybe the poetry needs to be watered down a bit in the future? hehe :)
Deekay: I doubt a full version of Cali.2 exists, but there is some other big titles floating around, just a matter of time I hope. | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 22 December 2007
Tune in next week for another edition of DPR (Dutch Poetry Review).. ;-D
Where the fuck did my comment go? It seems I was about the only one that commented on the release itself, and now it's gone...
Anyhow, here goes again: Kickass Intro, and a really nice game with sweet gfx, especially for the time (overlay sprites in 1989!).. Awesome sprite-animations! ;-) A shame it never got finished... Keep em coming, JC, and please please please: GIVE US CALIFORNIA GAMES 2!!!! 8) | User Comment Submitted by TDJ on 22 December 2007
@Jazzy:
"a pleasant burkah girl steps up to greet you, she smiles and seems pleased to meet you" .. how would you know, she's wearing a burkah, right?
"you have entered the twilight zone, beyond this world strange things are known" .. beyond? not in? twilight zone not weird enough for ya?
"use the key unlock the door, see what fate has in store" .. every hardrock song from the 80's called, they want their lyrics back.
Sorry man, but I call 'm like I see 'm ;) Nothing wrong with bad poetry though, I have put some awful lines in Focus intros as well. Then I got better.
Nice intro though. | User Comment Submitted by Jazzcat on 22 December 2007
Bad poetry? ahem... hehe ;))
Glad some of you have commented on the game and the efforts by Glenn and company. The game plays quite nicely, shame it wasn't released into the market. | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 21 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by TDJ on 21 December 2007
Just don't take it too seriously man - nobody else does. Kinda reminds me of that communist shit going on in the 80's ;) | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 21 December 2007
You're saying it yourself partly... "bad poetry".. | User Comment Submitted by TDJ on 21 December 2007
Rough, I do the exact same thing you do: take something, twist it and send it back into the world. Your "praising of a fundamentalist moron 'religion'" might be the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. A picture and some bad poetry - where the hell is the praising? | User Comment Submitted by Hein on 21 December 2007
Good crack/recovery, dudes. Inspiring to see unreleased games that look pretty and play quite nice too.
Please move the discussion to a forum-thread or to the intro entry. | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 21 December 2007
A bunch of simple-minded children, but that's no news to me.
TDJ: "Onslaught condones terrorists!". That's not what I wrote or think, don't interprete things into statements which aren't there. | User Comment Submitted by The Overkiller on 21 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by TDJ on 21 December 2007
Even if the islam was such a religion, what does this intro have to do with it? "Oh, a woman in a burka - Onslaught condones terrorists!". | User Comment Submitted by Sixx on 21 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 21 December 2007
thanks for making sense, ptoing ;) | User Comment Submitted by ptoing on 21 December 2007
I am not religious or a big fan of the concept of religion, but Islam is not by default a fundamental religion. Think a bit more before you write something Rough. Stuff like that is what gets people hating and fighting. | User Comment Submitted by Matt on 20 December 2007
@iain that's exactly what I like the most about this intro. anyway who drew the picture? | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 20 December 2007
Great release. I don't recall having ever seen the borders used in this way, "half open" effect =) | User Comment Submitted by tempest on 20 December 2007
a fine intro.
@Rough: you make no sense | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 20 December 2007
I doubt there is any sense to comment on someone who responds on an anti-fundamentalist stance with nerd babbling like "grow up". | User Comment Submitted by Scout on 20 December 2007
@Rough: grow up, enjoy the art and play the game.
Put your disgust of (certain) religions in a video on YouTube or something because this is not the place for these debates. | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 20 December 2007
@Matt: I don't like any praising of a fundamentalist moron "religion". | User Comment Submitted by The Overkiller on 20 December 2007
It's a ninja ..... LOL !!!1! | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 20 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by Matt on 20 December 2007
what are you so upset about? it's only a burka. | User Comment Submitted by elkmoose on 20 December 2007
a female taliban ninja? ;) | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 20 December 2007
it's not a ninja, read the scroller. | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 20 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by stash on 20 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by Rough on 20 December 2007
a) Skeletor's entry needs his Onslaught membership added
b) This burka/Allah bullshit disgusts me |
