Cool tune! I had forgot to say that back then and the years has gone. But I know you still do so much greater things!

Deserved to rank a couple of places higher, it got awfully mangled by the sound setup. The intro caught my attention immediately, probably because of the detuned bass and arps. Later on it gets a bit so-so. Might need another listen.

@Burglar: it was Fanta (and Dezert, I think) who has won the car cracking compo at x'06. however, Werner tried immensely to help me the legal way, hence the greetz and a highfive ;)

its a bit messy, has good sounds, but as i can hear the bass is detuned/false compared to the arpeggios. mostly noticable in the start.

Problem with too much bass .. I remember it was similar when I was at X about 7 years ago.. apart from that, I have never heard about / or oranised the party where there wouldn't be someone complaining about sound setup.. music compos are doomed I tell ya..

Michal, testing on C64 was something helped me, actually :-) While I was enjoying doing my sh*t on a laptop when we were traveling to the party place, I was actually surprised, that 8580 played the tune even more sh*ttier and dirtier. I"m just glad I could finish it on C64, otherwise it would be a really nasty experience for the audience. Thus I mentioned of checking against the real chip. :)

I wont' comment the volume and bass overdrive anymore, coz we probably can't say enough. As there are streams available online it seems the audio setup was actually quite nice at least for the internet listeners :-D

It was fun to release the tunes and audience was crazy - that's all it matters !

marcin, i DID test the tune on a real machine, and triple checked for different monitor setups. still, at the party it sounded, er, really messy in the low end area. i can't mix well on a c64, apparently :)
i also agree that they shouldn't reveal authors' names during the compo. not that it affects the results - at least not to big extent - but it does sort of spoil the fun.

Jammer - Jeroen has came to them, saying to put down the volume and bass, but the mixer guy said "I think it's okay".

Man, the volume was so high a this party, that organizers were asked to close the doors and windows because of the noise has been made.

Even that did not put anyone's mind like: "you know, maybe we're too loud here".

:)

Jeroen has promised to do the setup for the next party with the audio enginner support.

So make your fuckin tunes! :)
(and don't forget to check them on real C64 :) )

so, they should ask ANY musician to do the setup for them :|

Jammer - it's because someone had this brilliant idea, to overdive the volume and bass settings. Basically, music compo was trashed down by that. Not to mention ZERO of audio enineering skills put for the audio setup.

But who cares, right? :)

It was loud, it was bassy - meaning it's cool.

Most of the tunes are underrated, and you could not really apreciate hard work of musicans who has had put realy A LOT of work to their tunes.

But that's the scene, you know. People are voting.

Anyways, asking someone to remove his name, and then, TELLING the name by the organisers is just ridiculous. Especially, even native british could not recognise what the hell is said :)

fuckin' way too low! name voting sucks and organisers shouldn't reveal the authors imho. polish parties are way better in the respect of anonymity and fair voting :|

Awesome execution and instruments, no doubt. Some odd changes and notes, makes it interesting.

I admire michal's technical skill.

Should have ranked higher.
