Honcho: i totally see your point as well - there is also a big difference in what i enjoy making and what i enjoy watching. And i dont care if anyone likes what i make either - just dont expect that from anyone :)

Jammer, like Sulley and Mike in Monsters Inc. it was laughter we were after so thanks for the positive energy! :)

Anything that makes me laugh like an idiot is instant 10 from me. This production is no exception to that rule.

But Groepaz, there are no cats in this one so not more of the same? ;)

I'll take your point, but as long as Lobo continues to produce what I personally see as some absolutely amazing PETSCII art, cats or no cats, and he wants my help to bring them to life then I'd be more than happy to do so. Some will enjoy it, others won't, but that's just part of life.

And I'm starting to regret my inital comment about that 3 vote. It's clearly an emotional topic that is probably best covered elsewhere and it risk to cast a shadow of what we tried to achieve with this release in the first place.

This was never meant to be another Dawnfall, it's a simple and a light-hearted thank you for Bigfoot's help in Budapest before Function 2021 so when it eventually falls out of the top 10 I'll promise not to shed a tear...

I suspect that we'll struggle to ever tick your boxes so won't even try, but luckily others seem to enjoy it a bit more :)

see my comment to Lovecats - still love that one. However, more of the same tends to bore me quickly. It's like another AC/DC album when i already have "Back in Black".

The Venn diagram of csdb users who seem to only have negative things to say about others' productions and csdb users who seem to have some persecution complex is a perfect circle.

Groepaz, at least you provided context to your vote and thinking, which is useful and no pitchforks are coming out, I promise ;)

Take care!

The reactions once again show that anonymous voting is indeed needed. And that *all* votes should be anonymous too, because when they are not they just turn into a backpetting circlejerk of those who need to acknowledge with their friends and cant stand the idea that something they think is super cool is just meeeeh for others.

As for the constructive critics, i wish the PETSCII hype was over now, it is getting old. The graphics are solid OK, but not outstanding. The tune is solid OK, but not outstanding. The code works, but otherwise not worth talking about. As a demo or even game, this production does nothing to me, its a fun little production, but nowhere near the top notch that 9 and 10 votes are for in my book.

a honest 6/10 from me. now get the pitchforks out.

Those who want a personal top 10 should simply make a "Rankings" demo about it. ;) (yes, they exist!)

People voting 3 on this probably do that to keep it off the top 10 list. Often it boils down to that - that people just need to "correct" the top 10 so it mirrors their personal top 10.

iAN, from our perspective, given the effort put into the releases we make I would rather see some constructive feedback than an anonymous vote that tells me nothing more than they clearly just don't like something, be it us, the content, or the fact that Yeti's don't exist. I'm not looking to retaliate or kill someone's dog (I love dogs, and Lobo, of course cats as well), but I'm very much of the view that if you can't tell it to someone's face then don't say it at all. Appreciate I started the debate here, but to Six's point, probably one for the Forum :)

Keeping that anon just encourages this sort of behavior, best to let people have to own their own actions. And yeah, I mean flip the switch and let everyone in the community see who the two-faced ones and who their friends are. I get that a handful of 40-something man-children want to hide behind anon voting so they can hassle people they don't like without confronting them directly, the point is that allowing them to do so completely negates the express purpose of the voting system. Probably a conversation for the forum instead of the release.

Six: to do what, being able to blackmail or kill voter's dog in retailation?

This is awesome on every level. The 3 vote on this is more proof that CSDB voting needs to not be anonymous.

Visage, I'll supply you with a Lethargy version of the game - one that only supplies beers, no fruits - and you should be able to get up into a double digits score ;)

This is insane! The charset/logo is truly Ikarus style, and the way you thank you is truly Atlantis style! :) Thank you too for coming!
I just played with the game, my top score is 7, because I mostly wanted to grab a beer. :D
guys, thanks for the fun! :)

To whoever just gave the prod a 3, if you genuinely feel the release isn't worth more, which you of course are entitled to, I'd appreciate some constructive feedback next time so we know what to do differently, and please also don't hide behind the anonymity as that's just lame...

It's a mix between a demo and a game. Really nicely done!

Was a pleasure to meet you Bigfoot, and glad you liked this little prod, that was the main objective so we seem to have achieved that :)

And thanks again for the true V.I.P. service provided in Budapest!

Interesting little game, too .. now I'm just waiting for the +4HD version from Laxity or Excess.
