This is an obvious pastiche of Arnold Böcklins (1827-1901) symbolistic masterpiece "Die Toteninsel" ("Isle of the Dead") made in various versions 1880-1886. I experimented with pixelling rocky surfaces for a while (see Cracked by Nature and played around with "Die Toteninsel" for fun. When this xmas compo came up I immidiately knew what to do with it, so I made this pic this evening (2012-12-08) while drinking some nice glögg. Zyron came up with the title: adding a am "m" to the original title, thus combining Tomten (Santa in swedish) and insel (island in german) to Tomteninsel. I also added Zyron's awesome and spooky tune "Clowns Insane" from 2005. Merry xmas!
