@nooly: Sorry, I tried compiling for 10.6 but it wouldn't link. Something about lacking support for thread local variables. Guess you must cough up those $19.99 the Mountain Lion upgrade will cost you ;^) | User Comment Submitted by nooly on 1 September 2013
Doesn't work on my Macbook Pro mid 2009 with Snow Leopart :'[ | User Comment Submitted by ruk on 29 August 2013
2.5.1 for OS X contains fixes an issue with missing keys for those lacking a keypad. Also, there was a crash when viewing SID-registers. Thanks to Mr Ammo and youtH for helping out. | User Comment Submitted by Mr.Ammo on 26 August 2013
Youth - I can advise using this nifty key remap tool that has some standard options to enable keypad key mapping on keyboards without a keypad. You can find it here: https://pqrs.org/macosx/keyremap4macbook/
And don't use ctrl-f9, it still crashes then ;) | User Comment Submitted by Scarzix on 26 August 2013
yes, join us on Facebook, as freqVibes has compiled a special version for mac air. not sure if it isnt in here too? | User Comment Submitted by Youth on 26 August 2013
I love it, but on Mac OSX I am having trouble finding the right keys. Esp. since I don't have a numpad. Anyone else have this problem, and a solution maybe :) | User Comment Submitted by Mr.Ammo on 28 July 2013 User Comment Submitted by Perplex on 22 July 2013
Anyone successfully compiled and got this to run on Ubuntu 64-bit?
I'm compiling it with gdc-4.4 (D version 1) with no errors, and it starts alright, but when I press F10 and select a tune to load, it segfaults.
Here's the output from running it with strace:

Thanks for reporting the bug, Mr Ammo. Please download the fixed .dmg. | User Comment Submitted by Mr.Ammo on 25 June 2013
The mac version crashes on my machine with os x 10.8.4.
Try these steps that make it crash:
CheeseBug 1:
- Mouse click to instrument edit.
- press right cursor two times
The console log says:
25-06-2013 22:21:26,381 ccutter[50498]: CPSGetCurrentProcess(): This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore.
25-06-2013 22:21:26,382 ccutter[50498]: CPSSetForegroundOperationState(): This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore.
CheeseBug 2:
- press ctrl+9
- press any key
Console log:
26-06-2013 21:38:17,873 ccutter[54774]: CPSGetCurrentProcess(): This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore.
26-06-2013 21:38:17,874 ccutter[54774]: CPSSetForegroundOperationState(): This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore.
Anyone else encountered these problem? | User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 31 May 2013
@0.5mhz brother, yes.. I am too lazy to update (and stingy!) ;) | User Comment Submitted by Mr.Ammo on 31 May 2013 User Comment Submitted by abaddon on 31 May 2013
Wow, brill accomplishment, Ruk! :) Your work is very useful for developing the editor further. | User Comment Submitted by Xenox on 29 May 2013
Nice, working on my Macbook Air without any problems using 10.8.3...! Cool, nice editor...! Off to play around! ;)
Thanx for making this possible to all people who were involved...! | User Comment Submitted by Linus on 29 May 2013
My dear big brother, are you seriously using a 10.7.x deliberately? Wow, that's nasty! :) | User Comment Submitted by ruk on 29 May 2013
Ok, just learned about "-mmacosx-version-min=10.7". Stay tuned, FATFrost. | User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 28 May 2013
hmmm doesn't work on my 10.7.5 osx.. do i need any libraries or is it cocoa native?
thanks! | User Comment Submitted by bepp on 28 May 2013
Finally! MacOS version is ready, including D2 source. Thanks to Ruk for the work! | User Comment Submitted by Scarzix on 20 May 2013
The reason for me to make the FB forum is the same as why we have the C64/Amiga group in there (created by Sixx I believe).
I use Facebook more often than CSDb. I have an app for FB that notifies me etc.
Its a friendly group for fans or interested people, everyone scene related can join. I add everyone who is interested. Even "scene handle Only FB Profiles". Its about Sharing a common interest in a fast way.
I had plans for doing a tutorial/blog site for it someday, but currently I dont Have the time for that. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 15 May 2013
it would be more useful if you open a forum thread here than a closed to public fb group | User Comment Submitted by Scarzix on 15 May 2013
Its an awesome editor. Very much what I have been searching for. Its like being back in youth again with JCH's beloved editor which I had back then in 1989, but this time on todays hardware. I just LOVE THIS... now I just need to figure out how to put a SID chip in my PC... hehe
Btw. We have created a Facebook group called "CheeseCutter SID music editor" - everyone interested are welcome!
We discuss tips'n'tricks, bugs etc. its all fun for musicians and followers :-)

My excuse is Goattracker dogma. Still, great work on this editor. Might give it a try for the compo and wrap my head around the new numbers. | User Comment Submitted by Linus on 13 May 2013
Well, I am used to work in VMWare to check applications running in IE so it was just a lame excuse indeed! ;) | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 13 May 2013
does a documentation of the .ct format exist (other than the sourcecode :=)) ? | User Comment Submitted by Mr.Ammo on 13 May 2013
Yeahwell... :) command+w is especially a killer when working with it using wine. So, there are still enough excuses not to make a music with it :) | User Comment Submitted by Linus on 13 May 2013
FU for destroying my cop-out, dude! ;) | User Comment Submitted by Mr.Ammo on 13 May 2013
The windows binary seems to work fine without problems using wine on mac os x. Not bad :) | User Comment Submitted by Linus on 13 May 2013
As soon as a Mac version is available I will give this a proper shot. Looks promising. | User Comment Submitted by ruk on 13 May 2013
A version for Mac is in the works, give it a couple of days or so =) | User Comment Submitted by Dr.Science on 13 May 2013
Wow! Could be a reason to start composing :-) | User Comment Submitted by Vent on 13 May 2013 User Comment Submitted by abaddon on 13 May 2013
No, Urban Space Cowboy, there has not been such version before. You can confirm this by doing a simple csdb search. | User Comment Submitted by Urban Space Cowboy on 13 May 2013
Hasn't CheeseCutter 2.5.0 already been out for a couple of months now? | User Comment Submitted by Rudi on 12 May 2013
I like the interface! Playback is nice and thumbs up for the scroll-lock function. Easy Help section. Looks promising! |
