Bitbreaker: No worries, this is intended for small projects and lazy people like myself =)
Perhaps I will throw in some form of caching in the final version to speed things up. Haven't really been that bothered with long crunch times since packing a few k:s on a modern machine is done in a jiffy.
I don't know about "toy-compiler" though, would Kick Assembler be a better compiler if it was written in another language? | User Comment Submitted by Bitbreaker on 25 September 2013
Ruk: I can't see much difference in developing a multiparted onefiler or a multipart trackmo, except for the linking. In either case i'd rather use a Makefile, escpecially when dealing with slow compressors like exomizer, to only crunch those parts again that have changed. But well, i consider a compiler done in java as a toy anyway, so enjoy playing and don't take my rant too serious :-) | User Comment Submitted by ruk on 20 September 2013
Well, I find it quite handy for one-filers where I may want to selectively decrunch stuff and not necessarily just make a lame-ass sfx.
Using the plugins for crunching whole files (e.g. intended for a loader) would just be silly however. Then you're probably much better off with your old build scripts =) | User Comment Submitted by Urban Space Cowboy on 19 September 2013
Bitbreaker: Java programmers are experts at reinventing wheels, of course! | User Comment Submitted by ruk on 18 September 2013
@Gothicman: Eclipse!? Guess you're referring to KickAssembler's documentation regarding plugin development, not usage =)
Please take a look at the Makefile in the zip's test-dir. You'll find kickassified decrunchers there too. | User Comment Submitted by Bitbreaker on 18 September 2013
Le sigh. This is the end of build-environments and even cheap batch-files. Congratulations for reinventing the wheel in bumpy. | User Comment Submitted by The Gothicman on 18 September 2013
Cool, for sure.
But as far as I understand it, it's only useful if you use eclipse!?
Correct me if I'm wrong...
I'd like to get a simple asm-kickass-version of the exodecruncher, as well...
Call me lame... I don't care! ;=) | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 17 September 2013
