C64 low level pixel editor for Windows. Loosely inspired by Photoshop, Deluxe Paint and Ultafont+.

I release Pixcen as a pre-beta to force myself to finish the missing features. I know it's already very useful as it is so I hope others can enjoy it.

Pixcen is for Windows only. Linux and Mac users can run Pixcen under WINE, this have been working out well.

License and legal stuff:
The source is released as GPL3 and added as a separate download. Byte Boozer source is labeled "free to use by the community" by HCL but I'm not 100% about license. Zlib is included as a pre-compiled binary but it can be replaced with the original source (zlib license). To be picky: GPL3 is probably incompatible with the static library (Microsoft) release I upload but I doubt the scene really cares about that.

Pixcen as a binary release is compiled with Visual Studio 2010 and static linking of standard libraries and MFC (hence the size of the exe). This is do avoid dll-hell and dependencies on run-time installs. It's also possible to compile it as a 64 bit executable. If you have a slow but 64 bit compatible system, this might increase the performance slightly.

Pixcen includes byte boozer for C64 exe export so HCL is added to the credits. The "G" icon (for Graphix) was drawn by CG.

I suggest you read the help document under the help menu. It's lacking a lot of information but it will explain some of the basics to get you started. Do not hesitate to ask me questions.
