BTW. Re-reading the discussion at Demoni +4DGHF, it seems you were not aware it is a Warhawk hack. In this case you just got caught by the sword of Damocles which is over everyone digging for unreleased stuff.

@E$G: You guys did great work on it, no doubt. But from the view of first releases I agree with Smasher. So as it was uploaded to the boards to score points, it has to be counted as a re-release and scores -5 points. It will be updated in next issue.
If you do such a release for preservation and to show your abilities, do not upload it to the boards and all is fine.

Being part of HF I won't give my opinion if Demoni was judged in the right way or not.
Being part of the scene and my knowledge of what happened in my country in the past make me point this:
Demoni was not just another renamed game and sold in a newsstand.
We can consider it a sort of hack that propose a new game. A game that nobody have and was not present in any db. HF, as in most of their prods, have add the most they can and especially:
- 4 trainers
- Dox translated in english
- Highscore Saver
- Cleaning unused areas
- Level fix
- Optimized level data
- Optimized collision data
- Music init fix at start
- Color data fix in the main screen
- Sprite color fix in the main screen
- Starting level visual glitches fix
- Screen cleaning fix at level's end
- PAL/NTSC/DREAN fix
- Correct PAL/NTSC/DREAN tuning

Practically this game was partially rewritten and improved.
Just for fun and a pinch of talent ;)

Afaik Demoni was released by HF as rare since it was missing from the databases.

Thought a lot about how to judge "Demoni" and it seems I went the wrong way. I not that familiar with software sales/piracy in Italy. It seems I just learned something.

counting Demoni as valid release with the excuse "it was actually sold in Italy" makes me extremely sad, expecially since I'm italian. :(
no offence to the good friends in HF, but I guess/hope that title was meant as a fun release, nothing serious.
back in the 80s in Italy you could buy so many mags which included tapes full of pirated software, all nice hacks like Demoni. check this site: http://www.edicolac64.com/public/cassette_e_riviste_c64.php
so download and introlink everything you find there and next quarter you'll get 10x the points of LXT. bah.
