Nice. I am looking forward to all the other things you failed to do back in '87 ;-))

I tried it back in 1987 and failed... Tried again in 2016 and succeeded...

This is really nice Walt.
My first ever public release had a basic intro. Smooth scroll, music, graphics.. All done in basic. Was horrendous, to say the least.
Been looking for it for 20+ years... (D.I.S.C.O - Jumpman JR+)

I'm not sure creating a smooth scroll in BASIC qualifies as a first step. This is definitely not an easy thing to do so in my book Walt gets my respect for this one.
