Still easily one of the best C64 demos ever made. <3 | User Comment Submitted by Sith on 21 March 2017
unintentional double post - didn't respond when I clicked post the first time but I guess still went through - please remove this post | User Comment Submitted by Sith on 21 March 2017
One of my all-time faves: the atmosphere, graphical styles, robot-heads society and especially the SID of the second half just rule.
Still waiting for the sequel in the same style but pimped up: One Billion LY from Earth. | User Comment Submitted by Sith on 31 March 2014
It indeed does feel a mil LY from Earth and the music fits perfectly. Unique wonderful style and effects. Love it! | User Comment Submitted by Isildur on 2 February 2012
Fucking awesome! Love this demo. | User Comment Submitted by Nemezis on 8 January 2012 User Comment Submitted by Stone on 14 March 2011
Lovely demo! I particularly enjoyed the eclipse effect. Simple but effective. Jeff's atmospheric music is perfect here too. | User Comment Submitted by Archmage on 16 April 2008 User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 28 January 2008
Really, really excellent - watching it alone in a dark room could set your mind for that day.
Perhaps the only negative side is the bit incoherent design which is jumping back and forth but I can live with that this time. :)
Oh yes, and the music. One word: WOW! | User Comment Submitted by Radiant on 28 January 2008 User Comment Submitted by Ed on 4 December 2006
There are some excellent screens in this demo. It would have been nice to see parts of it executed as single pages instead. | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 20 August 2006
I just wanted to say. Thanx. | User Comment Submitted by Krill on 21 March 2006
I don't get what's so bad about that little planet sprite? | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 20 March 2006
I was bought the moment the first screen appeared! The only thing I feel that lets this demo down is that horrible planet sprite! I just wish it used sharp sprite overlays. As it is, it looks out of place (..and space!) ...but still, this demo is so mind warpingly fantastic! | User Comment Submitted by peskanov on 23 January 2006
Great one!
And the landscape effect looks an interesting one to take a peek... | User Comment Submitted by ZZAP69 on 28 September 2005
Lots of nice effects and fine design. Jeffs soundtrack is fantastic and fits very well with the rest of the demo. I especially like the vector-astronaut. I would love to see more of him! ;)

Damn, this demo really inspires me. And the soundtrack.... DAMN it's good. Just had Jeff to give me the source so that I can use it in my parts while developing them. =D | User Comment Submitted by Stan on 3 March 2005
Two thumbs up! Haven't been that fascinated by a Fairlight demo since watching Legoland 1 and 2... Too bad Tron and Ogami quit. | User Comment Submitted by HCL on 1 March 2005
Watching this demo att the party really made me feel like i was out in space. Thanx to the special music, well chosen design and effects, and probably some amount of alcohol :). This is simply demo! | User Comment Submitted by Oxidy on 1 March 2005
Excellent demo! Keep it up. | User Comment Submitted by SIDWAVE on 28 February 2005
This demo really surprised me positively. I'm not quite sure about the story, but there is a story :-)
Great soundtrack!! | User Comment Submitted by Hate Bush on 28 February 2005
Awesome music. Even better graphics. Can't say anything about code, I'm not competent enough. But it leaves something to be desired in the concept area. What happened? Hang the blessed DJ because the music that he plays it says nothing to me about my life. | User Comment Submitted by Graham on 28 February 2005
@nightlord:
to load the note file, replace the two "=" characters in the filename with "?". | User Comment Submitted by Nightlord on 28 February 2005

Absolutely amazing atmosphere this demo manages to create. Brilliant screenplay, very coherent both graphically and soundwise. Probably FairLight's best work so far! |
