Fixing all the bugs in this game was
quite a mission!

First of all, the original pre-release
test stage was performed while, the game
general logic test was done with
approximation.
It was so approximate that I can state
that nobody has ever played Dandy (C64
version) single player mode till its
end. About the 2 players mode it was
only checked if it worked, without even
playing it... not even partially.

The most important bug was the crash
that occurred when the player reached
the bonus level in Dungeon 2.
Dungeon 3 was playable only by selecting
it through the start menu.
Even Dungeon 3 had a bug, but not an
easy one to fix.
It appeared to be a design code which
showed also that the game dynamic was
unknown to who converted it.
In fact, Dungeon 3 lacks of a "secret",
a "trick" or a "characteristic" (call it
as you prefer) without which it is not
possible to complete the game!

Remaining on the topic "things that
prevent the player to complete the game"
at the end of each bonus level (there
are 3: at the end of each Dungeon), if
enough "treasures" have been collected,
3 passwords will be displayed (one for
each Dungeon), otherwise a message will
show up which informs the player that
not enough treasures have been
collected.
While displaying these info, the C64
also plays a sound fx. The problem is
that the original code, because of an
coding mistake, remains trapped in an
almost "never ending" loop.
It is an "almost" never ending loop
because, if the game is played with VICE
emulator in "warp mode", after few
minutes of wait, the sound fx gets to
and end and the game goes on.
We calculated that on real hardware it
would take about twenty minutes to have
the same result...

Minor bugs fund in the game:

- In-game keys do not work for player 2
- In 2 players mode, when in the screen
where is the stairs which connects to
the second level, if player 1 gets out
of the screen but without leaving the
stairs, while player 2 leave the stairs
getting into a new screen, the level
will change anyway for both players like
if they both got out of the current
screen, out of the stairs. But player 1,
who was still on the stairs, will be
excluded from the game which will become
unplayable, as player 2 won't be able to
get out of the room.

- When playing all the 3 Dungeons,
passing from the bonus level of Dungeon
2 to the first level of Dungeon 3, the
sprites of the players will be located
in a wrong spot compared to the design
of the level (which is on top of a wall)
The game is still playable, but in this
case it will be necessary to start the
game by jumping an open door.
By selecting Dungeon 3 in the start menu
the sprites will be placed in the
correct spot.

- At any change of screen or level,
player one's sprite will be refreshed
with a wrong frame. The correct sprite
will be displayed as the player starts
moving. Summing up, in this first fully
playable version of Dandy we have fixed
the following bugs:

- Fixed dungeon 2 bonus level crash,
caused by a missing byte in level data
- Added, to dungeon 3, a "secret"
without which it would be impossible
to complete the game.
- "Password display" lockup fixed.
- "Door half-closed bug" on Level 1
Dungeon 2 fixed.
- "F" and "G" key for magic always works
for 1 and 2 players mode.
- "T" and "R" key for magic always works
for 1 and 2 players mode.
- 2 player mode screen/starirs exit bug
fixed.
- Improved trainers avoiding crashes
when values overflow.
- Level skip with proper player spawn
positions.
- Level 1 of dungeon 3 ingame spawn
position fixed.
- Wrong player frame display at level
start fixed.
