@Lubber: That likely inherits from the loader of the original release. Since we made a Unhallowed dual-system game (C64 & Plus/4) the loader needed to work on both systems (and support HiRes for both systems). This might have broken compatibility with some Fastloaders. I for myself use Epyx Fastload, which doesn't have an issue with this.

This is an outstanding adventure, which made big waves on the Spectrum last year. It is one of few games of the new generation of adventures that offer the full experience with little to no frustration for the player. Well... there's a reason why I've chosen to port it over to C64. I did the screen as well ;)
