The moment when the "main riff" starts for the first time is pure awesome. The chord progression is familiar but it's used extremely well here.

Very, very atmospheric tune. And awesome picture by Joe as usual. Apart from the artistic aspects - it's also using c64 capabilities waay beyond the obvious. This is what coders love :)

Thanks all for nice comments.

Oswald, in the code I have a label called "doTheJoeMagic" for the part that multiplexes the black, horizontally expanded single-colour sprites and changes $d021 for every raster line. Since at the bottom every other line is mostly empty, a scroller seemed like a no-brainer, only 4 sprites need to be blended.

This is simply top notch. What a story does the music tell, and how well does Joe's amazing picture support it. The design goes to 11. Scroller is gorgeous. Everything is gorgeous. Stop making the rest of us look so damn average!
