Well, I optimized some of the graphics, wrote code which generate/modify/patches code instead of including it several times and found some identical data. There is more to free up, but I focused on gaining just enough to oneside it within a reasonable time. Also tried several crunch methods but that gave almost nothing vs original crunched data and IFFL structure did not really free up anything since there are just a few files.

There are various tricks used in this release to free up blocks on the disk as the original files were already well compressed.

The first proper release. That's the way to do it. This is also a case where IFFL a really makes sense. One of the really few.

If the groups that are releasing just for scoring should get a lesson from this. Back in the day it wasn't just to be first but also have a competent release size. Otherwise you were called out in an intro or demo and then another group would release a better version and the charts would be changed. Several groups back then popped up and then sizzled out. Seems there are some left overs that only care about scoring points instead of making a great release. They also make excuses for why they don't do it right to begin with.
