This production wasnt even ment to be. In the beginning it was just me doodling stuff without any kind of plan. I make this projects from time to time just to get the pixel urge out and not having to think about a concept or idea.
It turned out it was an eye looking at another eye, an eye ball to be precise. But looking at it I though "this sucks" so I changed it to a butterfly instead. It was better but still nothing I wanted to release. Then after some more doodling I added the abstract stuff around the eye and started thinking maybe someone has some music laying around to add to the image. Its alway nice to enhance the senses when looking at stuff with an aural sensation. I got an idea that I should contact Flotsam since he is the master of more abstract and ambient music, a real favourite of mine. I asked him if he had some left over music laying around but he didn't.
But he answered he could make a new short tune!
Wow this is awesome I thought and he started to make something after a week or so.
In the meantime I thought how I should add the music and picture togheter in one release and I didnt want to bother any coder to help me I found out Burglar has done this PNG2PRG tool to merge a picture with SID.
After thinking a bit about this I though adding animation to this would enhance it further so I contacted Burglar if it would be possible to add that feature to his tool and to my surprise he said yes and I think after just a day or two he had implemented it to PNG2PRG and I started animating the butterfly. A bit of back and forth between us with me requesting some added options and he helped me with adding it all.
At the same time Flotsam went into music making zen mode and the tune grew and grew way out of proportions and ended up very long. I love what he has accomplished! Getting new versions of the tune almost every day each one sounding better and better.
Meanwhile I put the finishing touches to the animation and by just running Burglars new tool I, a total lamer when it comes to code, was able to do a runnable PRG with sound and animation!
In a couple of days he will release this updated version enabling animation for the rest of us!
This was not planned at all. Became something else. A realy journey and ended up being a great tool.
Thank you Burglar and Flotsam for helping me! Loved every minute of this.
