I've had my files mixed up on the HDD and it appears that an older test version of the D64 was accidentally uploaded onto CSDB. That is the reason for why the hi score saver saved incorrectly and after loading the game for the second time, you had garbage instead of a working hi-score.

Since there is a rule on not allowing to update the D64 of the current release. You can grab the working D64 version from https://richard-tnd.itch.io/snakevsbomb2 or grab the Laxity crack for the hi score saver. Otherwise load the tape version that doesn't use it.
