I was always fascinated by SCG Intro and wondered how did they do that (rasters infront of the logo). During 30 Years of Excess Meeting November 2021 I discussed it with RHX who told me that it was probably $d018 fiddling. I long forgot about is until a few weeks ago, and then during a boring VC I thought to myself I must try that and I did. At 1st it didn't work, as I set the alternative screenram location bits and not the alternative charset bit. Then I spoke to RHX again, who told me I must have done something wrong... so I tried again and it worked.

Then to make it all fit under $17ff I use charsets at $0000-$07ff and $0800-$0fff. The 4x4 is just PETSCII and CHARROM.

The 3 register ($d018, $d020 & $d021) rasters are good on PAL, NTSC (both) and DREAN machines. The number of golden bars is less on the NTSC machines.

I selected the 512 byte SID Plaster v2 from 6R6 as it fit in both size and beat. I used Wixbouncer V1.0 [win32] to create the SINUS.

During X'2023 I added a couple more startip transitions as I had plenty of memory left over in the 4kb limit.
