Pushing the edge with a rap part with so much visuals and the longest singing vocals I ever heard on the C64. When Swallow showcased that The End part early on, I knew this was going to be a great demo. Glad I could take part of it and I truly hope everyone appreciated the hundreds of hours put into coding this together. Myself I spent quite some time on the intro part with the fractal routine for the moon-surface. I see votes of 5, 6 and 7s, so I am guessing that is honest votes saying we've gotta step up and do even better next time | User Comment Submitted by Goblin on 11 January 2024
As usual I am late to the party, but what a demo, just incredble. In any competition since the dawn of man you'd have an easy win, but as fate would have it, Next Level was there too. Maaaaan, what a competition. Cheers! | User Comment Submitted by katon on 21 December 2023 User Comment Submitted by Bob on 21 December 2023

after an evening of brilliant demo compo and wondering what the frak just happened, this final part. straight fist between the eyes. this was also next level :) and i saw it all live <3 | User Comment Submitted by Dr.Science on 12 August 2023
MASSIVE demo! Absolutely stunning in all aspects (code, gfx, music). THAT endpart! And what everybody else said! Thanks for this demo, CENSOR! | User Comment Submitted by anonym on 9 August 2023
I just rewatched this one again and really enjoyed it. Aside from the great code, design and rap, one thing that stands out for me especially in the beginning of the demo, is the great music design - barely any noticeable breaks in the beginning and very smooth transitions up to the Kiss concert - which is muffled from the outside of the venue. | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 14 July 2023 User Comment Submitted by Magic on 23 June 2023
Censor Design is back.. Great effects, great digi parts.. Talent as lead artist this time.. A nice story glueing all the parts/effects together.. And again a good digi part (side) ! I prefer this one on place 2 btw :) Bob after the usual break u know what u love to do most.. so.. keep the balance and looking forward to the next CD "big one" ! Oh yeay, Alice picture scrolling up and down with the nice effects going on is just top notch.. I raise my beer to the whole CD crew! | User Comment Submitted by BYB on 23 June 2023
A great show :) , have seen it on the live recording on youtube. Anyway i would like to ask, if it's possible to raise up the sample quality on SID-Chip. If you start on disk 4, a info screen is coming up, showing what SID-Chip is used and what sample quality is used. On my U64 the sample quality is good. What can be done to change it to "BEST"? | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 15 June 2023
Too many music breaks for me. Why did you have to destroy the great beginning vibes?!
Apart from that many insanely great parts. And the ending... oh my god is that good! | User Comment Submitted by ALIEN on 13 June 2023 User Comment Submitted by PARALAX on 12 June 2023
One of the best demos ever made for the C64. Well done! It can also be watched as part in our livestream at 00:58:37 which also include a "Best of X2023 Demoparty" special part. :-)

This one really had me worried at compo night. I expected the "worst" and I was thankfully not disappointed. A true tour de force of Censor power in all its might and magic. I love that you guys stick to the oldschool formula by keeping your Wonderland series alive. A lot of respect and love for doing that. Plain awesome! Maybe we should revive Lethal Display some day? Lethal land? Wonder Display? ...hmmm.. thoughts. Anyway, this is a true work of art. I am most impressed by Talent's absolutely wonderful style and there's nothing better for an oldschooler to see new blood. Talent, you are amazing.
Guys, you are absolutely amazing and I bow to you for pulling this one off. I am actually relieved that this behemoth is finally out - makes me sleep a little better at night :) Thank you for keeping all of us on our toes and always try harder.
Bob, I am not sure we need to seek that Edge of Disgrace killer demo ... yours is definitely one that goes beyond. Now, lets sit down together and see what Booze will do next <3
Absolutely phenomenal job by you all <3 Thank you! | User Comment Submitted by Merman on 9 June 2023
This is outstanding. It feels like a nostalgic Wonderland demo, with some superb coding on show. And the rap is awesome. | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 9 June 2023 User Comment Submitted by Hoild on 7 June 2023
Coherent and Classy.
DIZ is the legit Next Level.
Should have won. | User Comment Submitted by Copyfault on 7 June 2023
So Censor Design took us into Wonderland for the 14th time with this one! As for me, I gladly followed - it was an AWESOME adventure once again :)
The gfxes by Talent give this piece an extra touch!
Thx for delivering awesomeness at X, once again! | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 6 June 2023
"nobody move! this is the cops", loads of awesomeness, the rap truly does it.
this was also next level :) | User Comment Submitted by Pantaloon on 6 June 2023
feels like one of the more polished demos from Censor, awesome in every aspect! | User Comment Submitted by NecroPolo on 6 June 2023
Facemelting demo, true to the respectable history of Wonderland. That's been massive fun to watch from the first sec to the crazy cool rap outro. | User Comment Submitted by AMB on 6 June 2023
Oh my god the final RAP... <3 <3 <3 | User Comment Submitted by Mibri on 6 June 2023
A truly rocking demo, and one that would have annihilated the competition at pretty much any other party. Love all the attitude! | User Comment Submitted by Thunder.Bird on 6 June 2023
Coding-wise stunning, KISS-part sounds like 6581 distortion like never heard on 8580 again! so dynamic like zapping through all the best tv stations but stopping at MTV with the digi-hip-hop part even with crowd clapping digis. was so much fun listening that part at a real boom box outside the main hall again after the compos \o/ maybe had deserved the first place with the first and second place at X. but at least head to head /w them. over and out. | User Comment Submitted by mutetus on 5 June 2023
The demo doesn't load after 'run' when loading from 1571 or OC-118N, just spins the drive forever. | User Comment Submitted by Morpheus on 5 June 2023
No problemo Peacemaker! :) | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 5 June 2023
Rap segment gotta be seen to be believed - you really pushed all to the edge <3 | User Comment Submitted by Peacemaker on 5 June 2023
Morpheus: i added most of the credits. sorry, i was not very sure where to put you exactly in. thank you for doing it. | User Comment Submitted by VIC on 5 June 2023 User Comment Submitted by Morpheus on 5 June 2023
Glad to see this finally out. Dunno if it was left out intentionally, but I added myself to the credits and also added a credit to The Sarge for design. Credit where credit is due, boys and girls. E$G, I knew you'd like the KISS part. :) | User Comment Submitted by Bitbreaker on 5 June 2023
I really enjoyed the c64 doing rap, as i am anyway a big sucker for oldschool rap! I found your theme very pleasing this time, as it hit my taste just well! Also happy that you managed to sort out crashes on the party, but also beforehand with turning disk. I really saw this ranked higher after watching for being so well elaborated and polished! | User Comment Submitted by Hate Bush on 5 June 2023
Melle Mel rapping about X democompo. just when i thought i couldn't be more surprised. as a non-coder i rarely have competences to wonder HOW DID THEY DO IT - well here's a HOW DID THEY DO IT moment for absolutely everyone :)
(and it even wraps up the whole story, explaining the concept behind - fuck me, with a long joystick) | User Comment Submitted by Mythus on 5 June 2023
What an awesome demo and that ending is just soooo gooood! Love this one!! | User Comment Submitted by Jucke on 5 June 2023
Censor's demo at X23, let me express, It was straight-up fire, no contest. Visually captivating, music so fly, Censor deserved that crown, no lie. | User Comment Submitted by Clarence on 4 June 2023
Loved this massive demo. Solid effects, artwork and audio. True to the series legacy. The quality of pronunciation is surprisingly crisp in the rap track. | User Comment Submitted by kezax on 4 June 2023
In the design, flow, execution, technique, composition, overall was the best production I had a chance to see ever ! Thanks guys ! | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 4 June 2023
Awesome! Especially gfx is outstanding! | User Comment Submitted by Jazzcat on 4 June 2023
My favourite demo from the event. Real party vibe here. If I was at a party, this is the party demo I want to see. \m/ | User Comment Submitted by katon on 4 June 2023
I love this demo! Great job in every way, and this artwork by Talent just crushes! congratulations! | User Comment Submitted by uctumi on 4 June 2023
This demo was all super enjoyable, but I specially loved the rap part!! | User Comment Submitted by Hypnosis on 4 June 2023 User Comment Submitted by hedning on 4 June 2023
I must say: Makke <3 Even my wife loves you. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 4 June 2023
What can I say? Spectacular graphics from Talent! | User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 4 June 2023
Yet another very nice demo from X. Some really nice - and recognisable - art from Talent here. Art through is fantastic.
Music's decent.. not sure it's as good as usual Censor demos though?
Code is great too. As with X2018, I'd say it's a close call between which demo I preferred out of Bonzai (+PL) and Censor this time. I'd say there's more codeporn in this one - but Bonzai's demo had more polished transitions etc I guess? (both demos have the odd glitches here and there though)
Really great stuff. X2023 was definitely amazing. In a normal year, this would've been top 2. | User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 4 June 2023
grandmaster flash demand royalaties for using his music ;) seriously the end part is fuckin aweozzzommeee!! damn... slick demo and brilliant ideas!! moving in so great way. CENSOR you did it again !! 10/10 from me!!! | User Comment Submitted by Mixer on 4 June 2023
All the usual Censor trademarks. The twister thing looks awesome and that last part, huh huh huh! | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 4 June 2023 User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 4 June 2023
That final part. A masterpiece! | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 4 June 2023
The large colourful twister over twister rates as one of the best FX at X'2023
Kiss.. Emma Frost turning into Eddie.. what is there not to like? ^_^
The pixel style of Emma Frost and the portraits of the members of Kiss, and the Space-man, looks really good. How is it achieved? | User Comment Submitted by E$G on 4 June 2023
Very nice piece of art! Obviously, as huge KISS fan, I really loved the part you dedicated 'em. Detroit Rock City & I was made for lovin' you rocked. |
