tech notes:

* the border colors in the title picture are implemented with a d020 split, not sprites

* the swaying batman balloons are implemented with layered hires sprites and require so precise timing that the badlines are disabled during those rasterlines that the balloons are shown

* the ME and BATMAN dysp uses a fixed d017 stretch pattern that the BATMAN sprites move over by simply setting their x and y coordinates. the alternating rasterline pattern, which makes the ME and the BATMAN merge as they cross, is implemented with alternating d018 values for every other rasterline.

* the batman-over-batman stretcher uses sprites with alternating d018 lines to create a see-through pattern. the screen has no badlines, to allow for the timing of the stretcher.

* the me / batman dithered merge is done by having 6 different bitmaps, where the two images are dithered together at different levels. at runtime, the rastercode combines one sine wave and one x^4 wave to determine the level of merge at each rasterline, and sets the d020 colors to make the image extend into the border. to get the timing working, the screen contains only one badline, at the top of the screen, which is needed for the final color fade.

* the me / batman changer with the yellow bar is simpler than the others: the yellow bar is made out of sprites. underneath the sprite is a d018 / dd00 split between the two pictures.

* the moving me / batman changer uses 6 blended bitmap pictures, but this one also does a tech-tech movement using d016 in addition to blending the two images. same as the previous blender, the rastercode uses a sine wave and a x^4 wave to create the blending pattern. one badline at the top of the screen is needed to get the fadeout working.

* the colorful hires picture (Bold as Love ) was converted to hires + sprites using a fully automated converter that only needed manual input for the border sprites.

* the very colorful wondersprites in the credits part use both the "normal" wondersprite technique from Hues (two hires sprites on top of each other with different colors, and a few open pixels in the top sprite) and interlace to achieve even more colors than with previous wondersprite techniques
