great! and I love those waves. I also started with a really old b/w television, that I got from my neighbours. At least it was very big… Sometimes I could hook up my breadbin to the family color-tv in the living room and I always loved those opportunities, to see all those wonderful games in color…

Those waves 😍
Also, same story here in Austria. We had a portable B/W TV from our grandparents and later upgraded to a fuzzy portable color TV. Never seen a C64 monitor back in the day.

fun stuff!

@story: life wasn't sooo much different west of iron curtain... unless you were from silver spoons, kids' first CRTs were outdated stuff from grandparents and parents quite often b/w till mid 80s

Back in the day, many kids in east european countries used these tiny B&W TV sets as dedicated monitors for C64s, me included. In fact, I'm suspect that several Yugoslavian TV manufacturers produced these tiny TVs exactly with this purpose in mind. Lethargy already made a great demo about this, I just felt the need to corroborate their story. This is how we rolled.
