This is by no means a demo we put together from old parts (although i might have told certain people otherwise before, you know who you are! ;) . It's in fact about my own 'strugle' about coming to terms with new graphics formats.

Part 1: oldstyle focus logo, the old way, and the way i liked it -> calm music.

Part 2: emerge new graphics format (AFLI with underlying unexpanded multicolour sprites). threat->music gets distorted.
The top part of the picture is AFLI, middle part is a modified version of UFLI, lower part is plain bitmap. The 'lesser' gfx-formats surround the more superiour format.

Part 3: back to logo, white single-pixel butterfly/gfx-mode tries to take over multicolour logo, but the double-pixel multicolour butterfly resists and won't let the white butterfly touch the logo.

Part 4: Back to the 'UFLI' picture but with big pixels shrinking into the lower border. Question: how are you going to put those new gfx-formats/small-pixels in the borders. With interlace? (Hence the flickering spheres)

Part 5/6: Back to the struggle/question... The white butterfly seems to gain ground! Is there no way out?

Part 7: Multicoloured sprite has found hi-res woman face with multi-coloured eyes and can fly around without being limited by badlines or interrupting code. But the butterfly is still scared, so stays away from the face.

Parts 8/9: The butterflies come to terms and let eachother touch the old-skool focus logo.

Part 10: Music slows down so you can think about the question if new is better than old.

Part 11: The butterfly battle continues.

Part 12: Back to UFLI, is this what you want?

Part 13: Multicoloured sprite is gaining ground again and won't let the white butterfly touch the logo again.

Part 14: Or do you want UFLI?

Part 15: Multicoloured butterfly is allowed to touch womans face... Perfect hamony?

Part 16-end: Rinse and repeat until everybody's tired of the fight.
