Wow, a beautiful marriage of code, style and music. This is great! Archmage's pic is top, but what else do you expect from him? :) Cool that the glasses got some animation.
Twisters, plasmas, vectors and that tunnel. That tunnel is visually impressive.

In my case I found that when any virtual IEC device was activated, the demo froze already during initial depacking. Turning it off solved the problem.

Nice stuff, btw.

@Archmage: you might be right, I took out my c128, same problems, then wrote the original .d64 with rrnet to another disk twice (both sides, justincase/graffity) and presto! The demo runs ..

@Shadow: earlier I used d64copy to put the files on another d64 image, could that have caused my woes?

TDJ: I've transfered it and watched it from floppy without any problems on a number of occasions, both on my sx and on my normal c64 setup. This smells of a faulty disk.

Shadow, my friend: Your self promotion skills leave something to be desired. Of course it's that good! :D

It loads for about a second until it hangs .. I've got a pretty basic set-up with an unexpanded c64 + 1541-II, normally running everything I throw at it, so I'm kinda baffled here.

Oh and don't lie, I've already watched it in emu so I know it's pretty darn good!

The spot you describe is where the first loading occurs.
It's strange that it shouldn't work, it doesn't use any fancy loading features at all. Standard 35-track disk and using Dreamload (that should be proven and stable code by now).

Oh, and I advice against going through extreme measures to watch this, it's not THAT good! :D

I finally came around to transferring this one but oh noes! It hangs right after the logo at the beginning is built up, and even taking out my RR doesn't fix it. Any ideas? Don't make me get my c128 from the attic just so I can watch this! I will do it!

Really nice, especially the Archmage gfx! 8) Welcome back, Noice! Where the fuck did you leave the goats? ;-)
So how exactly to you render processing code on c64?

my personal #1 from the compo. Archmage's fresh graphical design and the music is really there. The code is not a breaktrough one, but its flawless the effects are pleasing and shows a lot of potential. (tho whats with the bug in the screenshot's part? looks like a texture wrap around problem:)

All elements are beautifully performed. The finesse with which Archmage organizes his pixels and his unique style, is just a pleasure to behold.

Laxity: why are you not objective ? clearly its the best demo. it has best gfx and soundtrack, so fuck the code, this rules!

Had I been the manifestation of objectivity, I'd objectively call this one as the best demo of the demos in the competition it participated in. Sadly, I'm not...

Darn, i should have been there, then perhaps this demo would have got the 1:st place it deserves ;). But there are quite some transition glitches.. hmm..

should have won, just archmage gfx alone is worth a win.

Nice one! A bit too much plasma for my taste, but the tunnel and graphics rock. Also good job from Dane. But there are two serious bugs in pseudocodes 1 and 4, these should be corrected asap! (y*height) ;-)

i really enjoyed this one.

it seems there has been some 8-bit data group sex going on at that party. instinct doing it with noice, while instinct cuddles with horizon, focus, fairlight and panda (oh! maybe there was even some zoophilia involved!?) not to forget the booze! ;)

My favorite. A bit too much of the good ol' plasmas, but other than that its pretty much the winner in my eyes.

When I watched this (and all other LCP demos) without looking at the results, I thought this was the winner demo instantly. But apparently it got only 3rd. Very nice effects by Shadow. The nicest cyber vector I've seen so far, and the tunnel kick ass. The quality of Archmage's gfx and Dane's music also adds much to the value of the production.

Should have won. The effects aren't new for the C64 but the overall design, flow and smoothness give me that feel-good feeling.
Shadow and Archmage really put some effort in this one and it shows.

Nice demo, and really surprisingly nice comeback demo being from Noice, a farmerstyle demogroup from the 90's who used to fill their demos with goats and didnt really have any style back in the days. With that in mind, this demo kicks serious ass and Total Chaos should be proud in his datachair. But yet i got these moments of "yaawn, so 90's.." when looking at it during the compo. Maybe ive been to too many c64 parties in the 2000's. This demo would be a clear winner and a smashing comeback if it wasnt for the Larsson Brothers and certain Triad people participating in the same compo. (:

..which is reflected by the close scores among the top 3. This was my favorite demo .

I voted this first as well, but as it feels like any of the four serious demos would have been worthy winners, their individual placement matters quite little.

Very nice demo. A bit of a "deja vu" feeling strikes me in some parts, but it doesn't really matter when it's executed this slick. Liked the tune, but not sure it suited the demo. Overall a very solid release, way to go Skuggan! ;)

Best demo in the compo, period. Awesome gfx, great music, nice fades and code.

Nice clean graphics, nice clean plasmas, nice clean music. It's a good match, imo. The echoes in the music are well done.

There are no 8x8 plasmas in this demo Groepaz. You might find a couple of 8x4 ones though... ;)

nice demo! 8x8 plasma was a bit of a bummer though =P and somehow the transitions/fading feels a bit rushed and buggy :/

Really nice demo. Wonderful consistant graphics by Archmage (eyes coming back, the circles, the skewed perspective of the logos, etc) and catchy music by Dane. The allround design of the demo should have been more focused around the gfx, though. Mescalinity ftw.
