Digitized animation on the 64! Amazing. | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 28 October 2008
Ok, I've added the new version, Arman! Thanx. :)

Removed vingeroefening as SID entry for this release, since its not the actual sid used. This tune is called "Open Your Eyes Remix". Greetings... | User Comment Submitted by algorithm on 26 October 2008
I agree with you Knoeki. But what do you expect from an hour of coding/processing beginning to end?
If it was my intention of making a kickass demo specially for X, I would surely spend more time and effort
This demo is merely images decompressed and displayed onto the screen, nothing more, nothing less | User Comment Submitted by null on 26 October 2008
I know I'm not the best coder/graphician, but my opinion about this..:
ITS SHIT.
it's just some lame animation crap. the intro has some straight converted picture.
this was done a long time before X, I don't understand why they did not at least put something like a scroller in the second part.. ( if you count the intro as a part, anyways ).
it looks nice, but it could have looked a lot better, especially considering this was finished weeks before X started.
so sorry to say this, but it sucks in my opinion.. especially because there are plenty of good coders/graphicians in GMi... | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 26 October 2008
Added the sids for your enjoyment... | User Comment Submitted by yago on 25 October 2008
This is an excellent one-filer with animation synced to music.
/me watches it since 30 minutes now | User Comment Submitted by assiduous on 25 October 2008
this is not the first time that something magically works in Vice and fails on a real C64,i have seen many more examples of it. in the other case of the "party testing gone wrong" the guy realised that something is displayed incorrectly in Vice and made it in time to fix the bug. Final-Testing in Vice or CCS is a real FAIL,if you dont have a C64 around then use Hoxs64(the only emulator not using accuracy sacrificing performance hacks). | User Comment Submitted by Richard on 25 October 2008
Very cool music, clever animations on the C64. Nice job guyz :) | User Comment Submitted by d0c on 25 October 2008
some interesting animation but that is all, ok demo but to much repeating... | User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 25 October 2008
Demo coding 101 : always check your stuff on the real hardware first.
| User Comment Submitted by algorithm on 25 October 2008
Yes $e5a0! :-}
All because of WinVices inaccuracy to run something when it should not have. Looks like its Hoxs64 testing for now! | User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 25 October 2008
The demo not working was a real let down at the compo.
| User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 25 October 2008
$e5E0?
Do you mean $E5A0 (Set I/O Defaults)?
Anyway, when in doublt and don't have a real C64 to test, at least test also in hoxs64 :) | User Comment Submitted by algorithm on 25 October 2008
Ok. It seems to be fixed now. Before memtransfer and depacking there should have been two calls (jsr $fda3 & jsr $e5e0) - jsr $e5e0 was excluded. Winvice authors please fix this issue as it still works in winvice with this call excluded and should not!) | User Comment Submitted by Shadow on 25 October 2008
Only black screen after intro on real C64, but it seems like this is a known problem already.
Also, I might be crazy, but to me it looks like the 1x1 scroller in the intro is not running smoothly, like the charscroll and smoothscroll is one frame off in sync or something. | User Comment Submitted by Intensity on 25 October 2008
My apologize that the demo did crash on x, we should have tested it merely on real machines. Sorry for that! :P However, a fixed version will be cumming as soon we have made enough tests :) | User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 25 October 2008
Awesome! i could watch a whole film like this!
intro tune is TASTEE!!!!!!! | User Comment Submitted by Nemezis on 25 October 2008 User Comment Submitted by RaveGuru on 25 October 2008
nice little production. and good music by Intensity | User Comment Submitted by algorithm on 25 October 2008
A quick one filer coded in an hour or so which features realtime video decompression. Failed miserably at X2008 (Did not depack!!) aaargh. Only could test it using WinVice! |
