Summary
Submitted by enthusi on 23 November 2009
This minimalistic tool extracts various screen modes from a VICE snapshotfile (.vsf).

See here for initial version:
Vice Snapshot HiRes Grabber

And here for version 2.0 which was improved by iANCoog (thanks):
Vice Snapshot Grabber 2.0

Namely:
- HiRes Bitmap
- MC Bitmap (by iANCoog as of 2.0)
- Charmode inkl. charset (since 3.0)

Bitmap data, color map data, color attribute data and charset data are
stored separately into single files without header.
Additionally an executable is generated.

Comes with simple C-source that
_should_ compile for any OS.
Linux folks can do 'gcc -o vicegrab vicegrab3.c'.
Feel free to upload windows binaries!
(thanks Streetuff! :-)

HOWTO:
- Launch vice (known to work with version 2.1.16)
- during display of screen-of-interest save a snapshot-file (alt+s in linux)
- execute 'vicegrab snapshot.vsf'.

Enjoy if you can,
enthusi
