Deekay, exactly good stuff I see. I see NuVie as an opportunity for use in video games including new video games (commercial and non-commercial) where we can employ cinematics sequences. Imagine what you can do with it and you can see the opportunities abound.
Great work and this can become an interesting option in the future. | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 21 May 2011
WEC: That's exactly what I was thinking of, thanks! ;-) NUFLI would really come in handy with Sander's Love for Hires, too! 8) | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 21 May 2011
Maybe Indulging Moments could become reality on C64 afterall.
I doubt Sander would want to take the NUVIEmaker route. For one, the option of upper and lower border would not be an option.

Nah, ofcourse NUVIEs will never replace proper demos - just like NUFLI will never replace Standard Bitmap modes! ;-) But it's an interesting avenue nonetheless where much new land opens up to be explored, since it enables gfx-guys to pretty much make their own animation stuff for c64 - i won't say "demos" here.. Think of it as the c64's very own wild category! ;-) I used many different approaches in BluREU, to make it as diverse as possible - i created animations right in c64 colors in Photoshop (credits, greetings, Carrion's head, even partly the gallery and the intrologo-anim), I hand-colorized animations frame by frame (the rotating cube) and I also had stuff I just put through our Java-colormapping tool and then the converter (PC-demos, Rick Astley). But there's still much more to be explored, I'm dying to find out what Sander is able to do with this f.ex.! ;-D Or wouldn't you also love to see Mermaid's amazing animations skills in fullscreen NUFLI glory? 8) | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 18 May 2011
DeeKay: heh, it is easier for sure..
It is always interesting to see new graphic formats on the C64, even if some are easier to get to grips with compared to others. Having a number of stills play from REU is interesting also. Converted animations have their limits, and I dont believe NUVIE films are about to become the next big thing on C64. Demos running on stock C64 will always be more entertaining. The inclusion of animations as part of demos are of interst to me also. | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 18 May 2011
WEC: Yeah, yeah... Consuming is always so much easier than creating, right? ;-) | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 14 May 2011
I would rather see Meet Crest than play around with NUVIEmaker ;P | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 11 May 2011 User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 11 May 2011 User Comment Submitted by The Shadow on 10 May 2011
This is a most incredible piece of 6510 engineering :) | User Comment Submitted by Mace on 9 May 2011
Yeah, except for crunchers (because of obvious speed and memory advantages), all tools should be on C64 only! ;-) | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 9 May 2011
Karoshier: Please let us know if it works with Chameleon! So far I haven't seen it working... Try BluREU first! | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 9 May 2011
just tried the example and the tool worked like a charm. triple thumbs up (?) for making the tool on c64, not a pc tool. crossbow style! :) | User Comment Submitted by Karoshier on 9 May 2011
I've seen several movies in action at Revision, as Deekay was in my same row. They all were impressive, to say the least! Looking at the pictures, NUVIE looks interesting, and now that I've got a Chameleon I can try out the BlueREU technology on my machine. Cool stuff! Keep up the good work, guys! | User Comment Submitted by camper on 9 May 2011
yay... thx deekay+xbow for this =) | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 9 May 2011
I could put up my seminar example files (BluREU outtakes), if someone is willing to host it... I'll ask mrsid! ;-)
Edit: Done! Readme on how to use included! Enjoy! | User Comment Submitted by Sixx on 9 May 2011 User Comment Submitted by Digger on 9 May 2011 User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 9 May 2011
