Trivia :
Cracked c*base security and took over Gunther Berznieks BBS in 1994. Won the award $xxx or 1581 drive. Used proceeds to partially fund first PC purchase.
The exploit used to crack the board was the discovery of a bug with assembly language opcode filtering for non-superusers; with the correct text on the 80th column (2nd line of a message) you could enter the @ opcode and it'd wordwrap - allowing the user to exploit the variable script for exposing BBS variables (including sysop password).
I really wish I remembered more of 1993-1995, but .. ya know.. if you have no short term memory capacity .. you have no long term memory recorded. :)

Which, when I revealed on a conference call, started getting all of those eurobitches calling at 2-5 AM just about every night.

He ended up changing the main house number so they'd leave him alone and I started taking voice calls on the BBS line when people would chat sysop. :)
