Originally launched in October 1984, the BBS was ran on a 300 baud modem (VIC-1600 = no auto answer!) with two 1541 drives. After some weeks it upgraded to VIC-1650 (auto-answer).
It originally used 64Exchange V2, Hal, The Keep, Ice BBS and finally in 1991 moved to C*Base V3.
The BBS made the frontpage of New York Times on the 11th of March 1987 due to it's H/P orientation (which coincided with the article on Captain Zap).

I fondly remember this BBS as being one of the best ever. For several years in the early 90's this was on my list of every day stops. |

Stumbled upon a BBS with a funny name in the lost corners of mid 90s US BBS scene with a few locals as users. Within a few weeks sceners flocked to the board making it one of the best of its time, with a large oldie library, an entity rare to find in those times.
iirc the sysop added Jiffy-DOS and RAM expansion making it pretty fast. |
