well, we still didn't get rid of that category 'Fake Demo', nor did we dump 'Fake Game'.

Still, I - as a mod - have doubts we agree on what those are suppose to mean (or honestly: whether we need those categories at all)

here it seems: Fake Demo = Demo stating to be released by group x to rag on x but actually done by y ->
well, either
a) "x" didn't have anything to do with it -> then it should just be a demo released by y
or: b) x really did it with a demo maker... well, then it's still... lame... but a demo - released by y

Fake Games...
Well, there's software with or without AI (e.g. https://www.c64-wiki.de/wiki/Supergame ) stating they were games. Still, it could be enough to flag the latter as games and then agree they are worth shit, e.g. due to only pretending to be interactive

Bottom Line:
I find both 'fake' categories quite unclear.
Opinions?

PS/BTW: We _don't_ have a category "Fake GROUP" (though this might make some sense to have as a flag to browse the database) - no matter how clear or unclear it is in some cases :D

Fake groups are groups created with alts to make fun of other groups or sceners or releases or as a joke.

Same with Fake demos.

Not to be confused with "lamer labels" which are again alt groups and handles to hide the real identity of the group and sceners when they release "lame" games like SEUCK or *cough* type in games from magazines and other such nonsense. Sometimes also as a joke, or to make fun of others groups.

Imho none of those "fake" labels make any sense. A group is a group, how can it be fake anyway. (Lamer label is different and nothing fake about them either - but that would be a tag that makes sense)
