Lft, It has been tried, with only the most painstaking of successes - you should know. ;-)

Was that LFT drunksinging Metallica? It was awful but I love how singer concluded his performance with dismissive 'Fuck you!' :D

Quote: I have used VSP in ~all~ Booze-demos since i learned it in ~1992 (someone check all our demos to confirm that.. :P) ..and i have never experienced a crash at a compo.

..oh yes, once.. when i coded a part for Arcanum / Xenon :P. Looks like i'm the kind of guest you don't want in your demos ;)..

Hmm yes, that was weird :-) the 3 VSP's in that screen messed up a lot of c64's that usually have no problem with just 1 VSP...

Oh well :-)

more bitching:

- 2 days later and still not recovered
- when I went to bed on sunday morning I slept a few hours and after waking up, the partyplace was already 90% cleaned up, damn it!
- nobody trashed anything and we couldn't find any stickers on doors that each would take an hour to remove.
- the private stash of ice-cold beer near the compo-team got me drunk faster than I wanted.
- Magic/Nah saved the day for those pesky sofasceners!
- HCL's new vsp part crashed a vsp-safe machine. I actually think you found a new edge-case.
- Sphinx' videocamera recordings are not on youtube yet.
- The low ranking demos were too great to rank low.
- the compo-team had a shitty view on the big screen and no personal screen as that would have degraded big screen quality *a lot*, causing us to miss all the greatness in the left bottom border!
- Arg! No power failures again!
- Hailstorm caused a big part of the parking-lot to be occupied, the problems I expected from that never happened??!
- Long lost Success-Founder Steel kept hugging me! ;)
- I didn't meet Red+White/The Judges.
- and last but not least, the compo was too great and long, you're scaring the newcomers away!

Total travel time: BUS 15 hours, CAR 6 hours, PLANE 5 hours but it was worth it. Big thanks to organizers and to Nucleus motivating me to come :)

Strange thing is, the VSP-code was actually stolen from Let's Scroll It!, which ran at the X-2006 compo machine with no problems :).. Of course, mem-setup and alot of other things are different.
