The reference sid

Sidplay has not yet made the filters sound as the original
Check with Galways "Yie ar kung fu 2"
This should be the reference sid

The filters are closing in the original and not in sidplay

So that song should always be played on the real 64 never Sidplay or emulator!

IMO the best reference 6581 sid, is Lightforce by Hubbard.
it has some arpeggios who suffer if the filter is bad, and plays an A7 high note, whichs becomes inaudible if bad filter.

The test has never failed in 30 years, if your sid chip can play Lightforce, and the arpeggios and high notes are clear, then you have a very good balance chip that plays most good.

From this, i concluded that Hubbard used an R3
