FLI-editor
Okay, so here's one more stupid question from me. As I'm not really into this 320x200 flickering stuff at all (I love the roughness of 160x200 in 16 colors), but would like to pic up the slightly more advanced mode FLI. What editors are good and stable? Any suggestions? Or is there some other gfxmodes in 160x200 that's better than FLI, like more colors?

I liked the Amica-style interface, but did not really need to work with it up to now :)
I really find the Amica interface a bit too uncomfortable for me. I don't know why, but somehow I feel lost in it. I'm sure it's a good program anyways.

Quote: Plain fact; there aren't any good and stable FLI-editors. But there are some FLI-editors atleast. All have the superb function of placing #$00 as default backgroundcolor, without the ability of changing it. One of them has a decent zoom mode (eg. smaller than viewing 16x8 pixels per pixel in zoomed mode). The ones I know of are;
* Blackmails FLI-Graph
* Dolphins FLI-editor
* Flimatic (Fli-version of Zoomatic)
* Trimatic (JFK's FLI-version of Zoomatic)
* FLI-Profi (by Crest. Surely the best of the 8x8 zoomers)
* FLI-Graph (by FBI-crew)
* FLI-Manager (by Powerzone)
There are surely some more of them, but don't count on any of them beeing stable and usable.
So what editor do you use when you do FLI, Twoflower? All of them perhaps? :)
The editor you used at LCP, was that strictly 320x200 resolution? |

I also use this one.
But be aware!!
Sometimes it hangs up on itself! (but less in emulator
than on a real C64)
When the screen screws up,RESET immediately!! and save $3C00-$7F40.
Otherwise your picture might be lost forever.
Remember to save on a regular basis!!!!!!!! |

Now how promising that is! :D
I never had any problems with FBI Crew's FLI-Designer v2.0 (the ultimate version). Only the rudimentary options are present, but all you need is there. It is very stable and robust (at least according to my experiences).

I assume that the reason for TCH' crashes are related to typical VSP/AGSP crashes on some C64/C128. A badly timed FLI routine may cause a constant VSP/AGSP. |

Interpaint V1.0

Just some words of warning.. Before using Dolphins FLI-editor, make sure to read Twoflowers full resumé of that editor after using it live at LCP2005. The resumé can be found in the party scroller of 'Smart girls hate Booze', somewhere in the end i think :D. A very good party scroller besides.. :D. |
